Khyber - Performance after Complete Engine Overhaul

I was feeling that my car has become a bit sluggish.
So first got the valve's and air fuel mixture adjusted and ignition timing checked but the problem still remain the same.
Then i thought to get the compression tested the normal readings for G10 engine are Max 199 PSI and Limit 156 PSI got them from Internet.
The readings i got were about 135 PSI in all three cylinders (dry test). Wet test wasn't done.
BTW the engine is Still factory sealed and have 2 lac and 70 thousand + km's on it. It is redcing about 150-200 ml of oil after 3000km (SGO 10W-40 API-SG). No smoke, no issue's.
Talked with mechanic about this and he said you can use it for around 15-20 thousand km more before going for a overhaul.
I guess so it is pretty decent mileage for poor 3 cylinder G10 engine.

I got this one for Rs. 350/-, but did not use it yet.

It was said to be japanese HKT, mehran was written on it with marker, but seller said both have same sensor.

Mechanic said that HKT will show higher than actual temperature.

Which one is more accurate?

Sankei one looks fake, since it says water (instead of coolant) temperature sendingunit, spelling and grammer mistakes.

I am using the same automatic fan switch rated at 92C. working perfect and temperature stays in mid.

270,000 Kms is a lot of mileage for a Suzuki engine. People say that normally Suzuki engines last one lac kilometers. You used your car with care and only on petrol that's why engine had such a good life. If you want to reduce oil consumption then you can shift to any 20W-50 oil. Havoline is good. It's summer season, so thick oil won't hurt. In winter you can go for complete overhaul.

From where have you bought this temperature sending unit?
All the shops I visited in Rawalpindi had the same SANKEI unit.
It isn't fake as their official website also says "water temp sending unit"

I have bought another one from Kayani autos RWP and it has a different connector. Will install it in a while.
Khyber, Mehran, Cultus Carby, all have the same unit.

I guess so i will wait for the oil consumption to increase till 500 ml for 3000 km then i will switch to 20W-50 oil. At the moment oil consumption is less max of 200 ml for 3000 km.

Installed the temperature sending unit shown in my previous post above. It shows less less temperature, just like the genuine one used to show when I replaced it. The fan kicks in at the following position.

If stuck in traffic, the gauge rises a little above as shown below.

Exactly the temperature gauge used to stay at same point's with the genuine sending unit.

Don't know which sending unit be used but at least this one doesn't freak the front passenger and then you don't have to explain the whole scenario.
I think both can serve the purpose and can tell if anything is abnormal.
New cars don't even have a temperature gauge.

Sparking Plugs Replacement

Purchased 03 NGK G-Power Platinum Plugs (BPR6EGP) from NGK official dealer in Rawalpindi.
The previous plugs (same NGK BPR6EGP) were installed 4.5 years ago and the car traveled 55,000 Kms with them. Although they still seemed good to me but as per NGK website, the life of Platinum plugs is around 30,000 - 40,000 Kms. My car gives very good CNG mileage with these plugs, the acceleration is smooth with very good starting.

How much these spark plugs costed?
I guess so i should give these a try as currently i use the Denso W16EX-U and they last somewhere around 15,000 Km and they cost about 450/-RS for three plugs.

Rs. 250/- per plug from authorized NGK dealer.
Other shops were quoting 300-500 for the same plug.
Write a message to NGK Pakistan on facebook and they will tell you about their authorized dealer in your city.

General BG Tempo Plus 3400/-RS per tyre.Dunlop SP Touring T1 4300/-RS per tyre.Yokohama S-707 4800/-RS per tyre.

Have you changed the tyres?

Yup.
Got Dunlop SP Touring T1. Have almost driven 3k km with them.
But i am quite disappointed by the grip of these.
Rest road noise and softness is ok.
Car used to stick to road with old SONAR sx-608 but with these on hard braking car skids.

Yokohama S707s are very good when it comes to road grip and comfort. But they have fragile side walls and road noise issue. The road noise is bearable. A bubble emerged in front left tyre sidewall although the car didn't hit any pothole. Took the car to the place from where I bought the tyres. He was willing to repair it in warranty but I refused. So after some hard words, he replaced the tyre with a new S707. On 2nd day of eid, a rear tyre got punctured. Took it to a puncture shop and he applied the puncture from inside by heating method. After a day a bubble has appeared on the side wall. I was very cautious when he was heating it and told him to be careful, yet the tyre is ruined. I don't know if he has overheated it but he is blaming the tyre. I think instead of buying another S707, I should change all four tyres because they are too prone to sidewall bubbles.

Yokohama Ecos is present but same it will be extra soft tyre like your S707, Dunlop T1 and SP Sport 490 or Hankook Optimo

I was also about to get Yokohama but many shops advised against these due to same reasons you mentioned.

Yes, Yokohama ECOs where present in the same size 165/70 R12 when I was purchasing S707s but ECOs are even more fragile. They were a bit cheap though. I have used Hankook H706 in this car and they were very good but they are discontinued and I have heard from many that Optimo is not a good tire. It wears out very soon.
