Khyber - Performance after Complete Engine Overhaul

My Khyber's engine is leaking a very minute amount of engine oil.
I changed the chamber gasket but issue was not resolved. Timings seals were leaking, they were also replaced but there is still some leakage/seepage. On close inspection, mechanic said that it is oil pump line which is leaking through head gasket and now head will be opened and head gasket will be replaced.

My car's engine was overhauled around four years ago and it has been driven 47,000 Kms after that.
Now, when the head would be opened, is it a good idea to change the valve seals as well? Because in later stage if they need replacement, the labor cost is quite high for this task.

I replaced PCV valve around 2 years ago.
Visited many scrap shops but all kabli PCVs seemed bad, hence bought a Taiwani PCV for Rs. 300/-

its odd that you saw this failure on khyber, as it has a similar metal engine - Ive seen this failure on mehrans a lot as the gasket lets go due to uneven expansion of the block vs the head. (every dissimilar metal engine suffers this)

If you do go the route of repairing this, then yes indeed change the valve guide seals - and yes indeed buy a brand new genuine PCV replacement.

Its very annoying to keep getting the engine torn down.

Yes, it is annoying indeed.
The mechanics are always reluctant to change the parts which are about to go bad because they want the car owner to keep coming to them and keep filling their pockets.
Last month when I changed the axle CV joints, I literally had to force the mechanic to change the axle seals as well.

This is the only brand new PCV valve I could find for Khyber in Rawalpindi.

I think 47k km are too early for such failure. I would blame it on wrong torque of bolts and not good enough mating surface finish

This pcv looks good.you can occasionally clean it in carb cleaner. Its metal so no worries

This was the mating surface finish. I think it is good. Might be the wrong torque as mechanics here do not use torque wrenches.

the biggest issue is not using a torque wrench of any kind, and not actually being able to measure the surface finish either.

Both lead to early failure.

Got the head gasket replaced yesterday.
I think the reason of failure at 47,000 Kms was using two head gaskets sandwiched together.
Due to head facing, the mechanic placed two thin head gaskets during the engine overhaul in 2016.

Now I have placed one head gasket, a little thicker one.
Also replaced the valve seals, PCV valve, engine oil, coolant and timing belt (the previous one was worn off from one side as it was touching bearing adjuster strip).

I have used this pcv in mehran around 5 or 6 years ago it works fine.

Thicker copper head gasket can be used to compensate for shaved head ?
And what would you do to compensate for shaved head?

how much shaved is the question.

there is a limit to gasket thickness you can use, its never more than 1.5mm or 2mm at maximum,

Newer engines with metal gaskets cannot use thicker gaskets at all, The cyl head has shaving limiters cast into them and if the warpage is so much that the limiters will be evened out then buy a new cylinder head.
