i dont know about B5 sohc's hp figures but B5 dohc produces 110hp and in some countries even 130 hp.
but then again, its availability is doubtful.
spectra's engine is quite toned down engine. it has a Siemens ecu and kia has used there own fuel maps. As far as i remember, 1.5BFD has more torque than a dohc B5 [110 hp]
but a stock spectra motor produces 160-165 whp easily and safely when turbo charged.

and yes, 1.8 will be quite heavy but it was just a suggestion.

and i have no idea about daewoo and its engine. maybe daewoo has also borrowed engines from mazda like kia did in early days.

bro are u sure about these figures cuz ive looked alot on the net and i couldnt find these figures....
thats why i am now planning to turbo charge the exsisting b3...what do u say ?
its kind of a DIY project cuz i'll be doing everything myself...and then later on i can swap the engine

i have done lots of khuwari on internet in my time. i own a kia spectra.
and yes, B5 in Australian Mazda Miata was rated at 127hp.
and the kia 1.5BFD engine has been turbo charged in korea many times. some of the bolt on turbo kits have confirmed to produce as much as 180 hp on stock internals.

and please do keep on searching internet. don't completely rely on my knowledge. you will learn a lot.

btw, there used to a kia spectra producing 280 whp in malta. do check that too.

i have no idea about classic's engine and how easy it would be to turbo charge a carby engine.

hmmm thats what i want to experiment ... how to make a turbo work on a carb engine, its been doen on charades engine 1.0 turbo it is carb, anyways what about the ecu reprogramming? can in be done here ?

currently my car is stock, 0-100 around 9.5sec on petrol
and 11sec on cng, top on cng is 170

bro thats a really nice acceleration.i recently changed y plugs from denso standard to bosch super+4 ..now on cng the pick is really nice..didnt chked the top speed...

on petrol..infact high octance.alaaa chaltii hai...

bro with ac pick was so so..on cng..these plugs have done two things.
engine response is better now

rpm and pick have a better ration now..

costed me

1250/4 plugs...i have ngk iridum as well will give them a try as well but i thnk they will work better with petrol..

moreover fuel quality is too bad nowadays..use half tank
hi---octane+half tank standard...Inshallah u will enjoy..++"dont put tape or any air blocker infront of air filter pipe when running on petrol"..

one thing more..dont try turbo on carbi..it may damage the engine...with AC even honda city is a frustration:P

yeah thanks for the reply, let me know after using the other plugs too so that i can decide which ones to put, and no yar turbo wont destroy ur engine untill u give it enough boost to actually destroy the rings and head, will be keeping boost under 5psi or may be less then that, plans are to get it near to civic's acceleration

how much will it cost???

something went wrong with my car yesterday.its fan is automatic ..now its direct always...chked out the relay and switch...they are ok...perhaps wiring has gone wrong:(

yeah and also tell me about the other plugs. and yeah check the relay again, it might seem ok but its gone bad for sure, same thing happend to my car and had struggled for i guess 4-5 hours b4 i found out the relay has had it...

Use complete setup from Daihatsu CB60. It used to be in Charade 84-86. Carby turbo.

yeah that is if i got that setup... but lets see , i am going slowly , ive finished the upgrade fr brakes and exhaust system, next i am changing the exsisting altrnator cuz it doesnt provide enough power when ur running woofers, fog lights and a/c, with that i might get a much better spark for plugs,next i am going to change the plugs.then make a timing retarding system for turbo and cng management it will be an ECU (thats al DIY :D) well will be going slowly, will be keeping u guys updated...
