KIA Picanto Steering Wheel Module

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know a mechanic in Lahore who can repair the KIA Picanto's Steering Wheel Module, or a seller in Bilal Gunj Lahore who sells on reasonable price?
The one from KIA Dealership is really expensive and they wont repair it either.

So you are implying that if a person buys a car whose repairs are out of reach of owner then we should have condolences?

There is a concept of wants and needs.. our bhai here probably wanted a picanto but actually needed a mehran.

Unfortunately the business model of Korean and Chinese cars is that they are dirt cheap to buy but hell to repair. People get sucked in this scam. Not saying that Picanto is cheaper than Alto. Picanto is about 1 million more expensive but the spares are multifold more expensive.

The problem with electronic parts from the scap yard is like buying a water mellon: no clue what's inside.

Dude, buying a 1000cc good quality hatchback in Pakistan only gives you a limited number of options, and buying a Picanto is a thousand times better than buying a cultus or wagon R. How was I supposed to know that KIA dealership itself is a scam and will charge 6k just to diagnose a problem which a local mechanic will diagnose for free? By your logic, no one can afford to buy a new car cuz the dealership parts are always skyrocketing in price.

you have mechanics doing free diagnostics? so they use all their tooling and time to earn absolutely no money? Are you visiting actual real automotive mechanics who use instrumentation to diagnose stuff? or are you visiting clowns who stick a code reader and tell you an error for no money?

I ran a workshop too in Pk, nothing was free, diagnostics were charged and if the job was done by us, the diag charge was refunded by absorbing it into the total labour charge. Seems like you want free diag then ultra cheap parts installed by someone who bid lowest. Car repair doesnt work that way.

And yes - you are supposed to study on what brand offers what service and if parts are readily available before you hand your money over.

Btw picanto is a useless deal compared to suzuki offerings if you need to visit forums to ask for scrap parts because the dealer is charging high. And its a known problem as mentioned above that korean and chinese brands have very high service costs which ramp up over the years of ownership due to such issues you are facing.

O bhai thanda ho, men masly ka hall leny aya hun ladai karny nai. I visited multiple mechanics in Lahore and they all spent time on it to find out the error, they all found the same thing and charged nothing until I asked them to fix it.
You are acting like you know nothing about the local market, car markets like Johar town shadiwal ,peco road and especially Bilal Gunj are crowded with people buying cheap. used or knock off parts because they cant afford to pay 100k for every other part to the dealership. Only if you can afford it doesn't mean everyone else can.

And if you think that Picanto is useless as compared to Suzuki, then I'll suggest you to just sit for a few minutes inside Cultus and Picanto and compare them, you'll have your answer.

Ive lived in Pk and ran a shop there, I was one of the only shops in the whole country that repaired automatic transmissions with brand new parts, (and had warranty) so I know a thing or two about the automotive repair industry. 🤣
The peeps not charging for diagnostics are not qualified or even knowledgeable. (Neem hakeem types)

I would still say that suzuki is a better product because of support.

another example are mercedes benz sprinter vans, they are globally recognized as the defacto standard of commercial transport and hauling (their service life is multiple of million kms)

The sprinter is an utter failure in Pakistan due to lack of service and spares. Same thing with your picanto, a car that looks pretty but isnt fully working is not a good car.
