3rd generation... They have issues in supply chain for Sportage and Picanto so, they are working on that to keep that loop running . 3rd generation Sorento is just around the corner. An internal dealer presentation already given as per available information.

What is the price difference of Sorento and Sportage in Germany?
I have seen few sites and difference is not so big, i think not more than 5k USD or euros (pls correct if i am wrong) if compared in same categories.
So Ideally price difference in Pakistan should be more or less 1m to Sportage??

Different tax structure in pakistan. Since Pak is getting 3.5 V6 version of Sorento, price difference would be 2-3Mn.

I think tax structure is same for all the Pakistani assembled vehicles other than registration and WHT paid by end consumer.
So 3.5/V6 is confirmd for Pakistani market ?

No, it is higher for higher capacity engines (although the difference is not as high as in case of CBU). Federal Excise Duty is also higher for high capacity engines.

Nope. KLM CEO confirmed this in an interview with Dawn last year.
“The newest and third addition to our locally assembled range will be Kia Sorento, a mid-sized seven-seater SUV built for comfort on a car platform with a V6 3.5 litre 276 HP engine. It will be available in three variants."

News is that Sorento's booking opens in a couple of weeks time. People I know are gearing up for the purchase and the required paperwork.
Seems like car launches at almost every price point has people lined up for booking, waiting, and putting up their 'hard earned' money as advance.
From an automaker and /or importers point of view, what's not to like about this market

Just like every Honda dealership is saying Atlas will launch 7th gen City, while all evidence points to 6th.

Remember, their CEO has said Sorento will have a 3.5 V6, 4th gen does not come with a V6, 3rd gen does. Plus, 3rd gen Sorento was part of their "We are unstoppable" campaign caravan.
So, it's pretty much confirmed.

I also check from KIA ferozpurroad Lahore ... the manager said the same that investors are already willing to give pay orders and KIA motors has strictly prohibited us from giving any launching dates to prevent these investors.

One thing that bugs me is that 4th gen with 4-cyl and 3rd gen with V6 both cost $30k. So we will be paying the same money for an older(and inferior) car just because KLM probably got a good deal on discarded assembly line and saved a ton on initial costs.

Yes, the one I know is a genuine user, but I'm sure investors line up much the same way.
A business associate from Peshawar is booking an MG HS right now for May delivery (Islamabad), and says will sell it on premium and book a Gloster which would be available by that time according to him. Weird market behavior where even a genuine buyer is banking on the premium amount at delivery, to book a more expensive model.

4th generation now comes with a 3.5LV6 MPI engine exactly same as in Carnival . Yes we are not getting the 4th. That has been established already because currently Sorento is only made at KIA own facilities and no CKD kits are available. Additionally, the new Sorento platform is not a cheap equation.

Sorento was coming mid January BUT now delayed for short while because around 30 containers worth of parts / kits are stuck in containers. There had been extensive delays at ports all around the globe . Even Sportage parts availability is suffering from delay issues.. I know people who are waiting for bumpers [ replacement for damage] for over 4 weeks now..
