Going by the CEO interview, in which it was confirmed 3 versions will be launched - all with a 3.5 V6 - I'm guessing we see a similar if not the same configuration as Sportage. Basic, FWD and top spec AWD. Can expect all colors that Sportage currently has (including the new Panthera). The creature comforts (powered, heated, ventilated, memory seats, auto-gate etc) and the pricing will be key decision making factors.

It would be a second tragedy (first one being 3rd gen) if they do not end up making an AWD model with diff lock, hill assistance etc to keep prices down. They should also, at the very least, manufacture the latest facelift of the 3rd gen (chrome exterior trim and diffuser, newer DRLs, LED rear lamps, 7 seats standard etc).

My guess is the 3 variants will range between PKR 6.8m to PKR 8m.

Ppl will still buy it be it 3rd gen due to price, 7 seaters and 3.5 V6 (270hp) engine almost 100hp more than petrol Fortuner . Also it might have more features than Fortuner.

yeah i saw the Kia Australian website showing 3.5 V6 smartstream engine coming soon but for now they are selling 2.2tdi Kia sorento.

Yes, sir. I am of those people. My car evolution over the last few years has been Surf (1KZ 3.0) > Prado (1 KZ 3.0) > Revo (2.8 1GD). Had booked the Carnival and it seems like an excellent people mover but the stigma of driving a minivan was just too much so I crumbled and submitted an application to transfer my deposit to book a Sorento, which the dealership accepted.

It's not much of a looker, but I'm going the unibody and V6 makes for a substantially better drive to cover up for it. Extra features would be nice too.

As long as you keep your expectations realistic I.e. no off-Roading or very very mild, Sorento should be fine.

I myself did consider the new carnival but it is still van so I decided on waiting for Sorento I hope it gets launched soon I have been driving Fortuner sigma and just want something a bit more comfortable to me Fortuner is just not something that has comfort or is fun to drive I now need to decide between Sorento or gloster and Sorento looks like it’s coming earlier then gloster so probably will opt for it as gloster is coming in mid 2021 according to my sources

the GT line version or whatever depending on market , on facelift had front LED headlights as on the white one. ..
Also quad fog vs single bulb like in current Sportage.

I believe we will get the regular projector as seen on the one right next to white.

Tbh to me front would be acceptable either way - not entirely bad looking.

If we don't get the LED's on the back - at least in the top spec - it would be bad. Looks terrible and very last decade from the back and the LEDs help a bit.

Thoughts on colors? Black would be the safest bet I suppose in terms of making the vehicle look the least worst. Thinking I'll immediately go for a rim/tyre swap (Kumho expected) and glass-coat. Rims along the lines of the Lenso Jager-Dynas should help bring some character out...

If they give regular projectors and rear lights than sorento will look really outdated.
This vehicle will only be acceptable with led lights and bigger rims.

They did give in sportage so I am hopeful they won’t miss them out on sorento.

Fully agree on the acceptability metrics. The vehicle they drove around in the #WeAreUnstoppable campaign had LEDs at least in the rear. Hoping that trickles to the CKDs.

I hope the panoramic sunroof also makes its way through - Sportage again being a ray of hope here.
