The one you saw on the road is LHD , imported from EGYPT. There is a KIA facility which makes Sorento there.

I don't know what is the confusion.. please clarify..

The 3.5L is available both as FWD and AWD in Egypt. There are 3 trims. 2.4L FWD. 3.5L FWD and 3.5L AWD. We imported FWD versions ONLY.

By the way the reason of LHD was because the production for RHD third generation was over and this was the left over option as 3rd generation is still made at KIA facility in Egypt.

The post says in Egypt "AWD is only avaibale on 3.5L " . it does not say "3.5L" is only available with AWD. I hope this clarifies.

Kia Egypt has funky website.. check the official brochure.. it is 3.5L.. not the 3.3L. In some markets the 3.3L was replaced with 3.5L on facelift like even in Australia. The prefacelift was 3.3 but with facelift it went to 3.5L

I know it's LHD, that why I said if it's 3.3 V6 or 3.5 V6 as KIA Egypt was showing 3.3 V6 as i knew FL sorento came in 3.5 V6 and the picture they shows also looked FL sorento on their website, it must be typo on their website or silly mistake.

Can confirm that the 3.5L V6 will NOT have AWD. The 8 speed they're mating it against does not work with the Dynamax AWD system. MAJOR BUMMER!!

Believe there will be 2 trims for the 2.4L (Theta 2 MPI) - one basic and one with AWD.

This is almost a deal-breaker for me.

So, my prediction are correct..

3.5L V6 with 8 speed has/had AWD in certain markets BUT LHD..

New FL Fortuner will be coming in May/June that what i heard but i hope it come sooner, a FL Fortuner has been seen at the Toyota dealership in Khi but i think its been converted even the interior was new in black/red.

I think lucky group will source AWD system for RHD market here. Doesn’t seem a big issue.
