One of my cars is a Kia Spectra. I bought it brand new in 2003 and now Masha Allah it has covered 180,000 km. Mostly in original condition. Non original items are replacement parts that are Korean or Chinese depending on what is available. These cars are fairly tough, drive well, have Lotus tuned suspension and my car turns in 10 km/l with a/c in the city. As far as problems over the last 11 years of ownership are concerned, the bulk of the issues were related to the CNG side of the car during the first few years of ownership. During this time I used to get my car repaired at the dealer I bought it from.
After realizing that the 3S place was indulging in hanky panky, I found a reliable mechanic outside and since then the car became very trouble free. The electrical switch gear is not the best especially the headlight dip/full stalk. It is of poor design failure of which results in the headlights remaining on all the time. Only solution is to replace the wiper/indicator/headlight stalk assembly. I am on my third one now. This item is one thing that is now no longer available so the third one I sourced from the second hand market. This car is parked out in the sun all the time due to parking space restriction in the house so now the demister vents at the base of the wind shield have become brittle from the heat of the sun and started to disintegrate. Car is on its second clutch and third set of outer CV joints. The previous ones failed due to the boots getting torn. Front shocks were replaced at 170,000km. The rear ones are on their way out.
As far as parts are concerned, there is only one shop in Pindi that deals with its parts. Engine and body parts are available from this shop though not all original Kia parts but mostly Korean and Chinese copies. Lahore, being a bigger market, should have one or two shops specializing in this car. Prices of parts are certainly cheaper than my 8th gen Civic's but more expensive compared to a Suzuki Cultus
Hope that helps with your decision to go or not to go for the Spectra.
