AOA,
I have a 2002 Spectra and has given me all sorts of trouble in the past couple of years or so due to bad maintenance from the previous owner. I have been facing one disaster after an other and am really stuck now and engine swap i guess is the best option I can think of at this moment in time. If guys have any other suggestions please do enlighten me 
Four moths ago it over heated severely due to a faulty water pump. Had it replaced. Now it frequently misfires (phatakha), missing, rough idle, and all sorts of issues might be due to coils, spark plugs etc. Plus it does look like its gas kit is also going as well.
I am thinking of swapping out the engine as it is ending its life anyways and getting all these issues fixed on the engine does not really make sense in my book. Also to add to the matter the gear box (manual) is completely gone as well. As of yesterday, the car gear lever got stuck and only 3rd gear and neutral works. Did had it inspected and looks like there is some issue in the gear box and might cost about 7-10k to get it fixed.
Now my questions
- Is it a good option to swap it out with a complete Toyota engine and gear (4AFE, 5AFE, 2E, 4EFE)?
- Please suggest a good engine in the above mentioned or any other you might think is best applicable? (Please do bear in mind I drive exclusively on CNG, occasionally on petrol)
- Suggest a good mechanic who has Spectra SWAP experience in Karachi (I do have a very good mechanic tho)
- Can anyone tell me how much the swap might cost just an estimate
On another note
Is it a good option to swap out the engine with the same Spectra Engine (Does anyone know how much it will cost in Shershah)?
Please do remember I am on a budget here.
