Hi guys.
I am a proud owner of a Sportage and was using its diesel engine for the last four yrs but now i changed it to a petrol.

The engine swapped was a Mazda F8 EFI 1.8L that is the same engine used in some models of Kia sephia/spectra, mazda bongo van, mazda 626.

I was afraid that a engine used in spectra may be inadequate for a sportage but guys to my surprise that engine took me fully loaded to murree-nathia gali- kalabagh- abbottabad and back to pindi. previously in the diesel it was 1 gear alll the way but this petrol engine surprised me when at places even 3 rd gear was picking up.

its awesome sir! people were swapping toyota 3s in sportage. you did a new thing and seems to be a successful swap. also 1.8 L engine will consume less fuel. R u using CNG??

Consumption has decresed a lot as compared to diesel, will post figures soon. Also it was a bolt on swap. no alternation and even sportage's own 4x4 is operational. Only AC pipes needed adjustment but its cooling has improved a lot.

CNG is my next project....

that 1.8L is quite gutsy. i have personal experience of it. quite smooth as well. congrats on the swap.

yup. mera aik rule hai
garian jitni b change karlo ap mechanic aik e rakho. meray pas nissan honda toyota ho ya spectra ho main kam aik e mechanic say karata hu. aur wo kafi experieenced hai. basically he has a complete team. he himself is a kharadia but he also has a goda ustad and very good mechanics. also u can find kabuli parts from him . i am not saying k spectra k parts ap ko us say milain ga. parts ap ko saddar say e lanay hon ga magar kaam us say karao.

Means all sort of work can be done under a single roof. I and my all cousins go there for our all rides. But problem is that they hesitate to accept the Spectra and always says that "sir spectra ka samaan nahi milta aur boht khwari hoti hai is liye hum spectra ka kaam nahi kerty" :(

Farhan bhai meri gari ka problem yeh hai k wo CNG pay to bilkul theek chalti hai aur pick bhi boht behter hai but on petrol with AC jab signal pay rukko aur chalny lago to gari baith jaati hai. But jab thori speed paker lay to theek ho jaati hai. Petrol pay wiht AC pick itni achi nahi hai but jab 2000-2500 RPM tak jaati hai to pick theek ho jaati hai. Yeh problem tab zyada ho jaati hai jab mai enercon say tunning kerwaoon aur wo is k mixture ko set kerain tab.

Recently i changed its fuel filter and plugs, new plugs are iridium plugs with heat range 7.

Do you know k kiya problem ho sakti hai ?

yar mujay yeh problem kabhi nae ai. waisay jab kabhi is tarha ka masla ho to enercon scheme 3 walo k pas jata hu. wahan ibrahim larka tha magar ab us ka bhai wahan hota hai. very telented guys. ap kon si branch pay jatay ho??

guys the issue with the 4 tips has been resolved the crank sensor of the car was in a very bad condition cleaned it up wid petrol and the car is now perfect mashAllah.... next step is the sound sys and alloys

i am unable to find the reason why people are demanding too much for spectras.
one fool is demanding 550 for a 2001

that 1.8L is quite gutsy. i have personal experience of it. quite smooth as well. congrats on the swap.

F8 Mazda 1.8 in spectra is rated as 124 hp which is much higher then RT diesel of sportage. Torque can be same same i beleive.

where crank sensor is located, please

Crank sensor faces the main pulley and is vissible if u look deep from timing cover.
