Kia Sportage break in period

Can anyone advise what is the break in period of Kia Sportage
I called kia motors and they said that we can drive it any way we like so plz advice

Don't listen to them. Even the top most car critics in the world support break in and ensure they do it on every new car they get.

What you have to do is to keep the RPMs under 2000-2200 max. No sudden acceleration or braking. Avoid going uphills and even if you have to do, go with minimum load in the car. Also, avoid using long routes and specially cruise control. It's better to ensure that car speed and gears change so every gear gets to have its time. I did the same on my Sportage and it worked wonderfully well

So it means we shouldn’t accelerate it hardly at any time till break in period
Just asking because me and my father drove and did acceleration (6500rpm)
So was just curious whether some rare acceleration would have a negative effect on the engine
The car is 500-600km driven
Only floored the car today

Ideally, no. No you shouldn't. Ppl take it from showroom and get on Motorway and touch 160 even. Nothing happens, but it's not a good thing to do. If you floored it once, it hardly matters. Just make sure that till first 1000 km you follow the guidelines I shared. Occasional pushing the accelerator doesn't matter but then I'm a control freak and an idealist
