My brother's Yaris 2021 (10K KM) is being maintained by Toyota sh-e-faisal qtrly. Infact he bought Toyota maintenance package which offers qtrly oil change and other general service/inspection. Again, that package covers 4 oil change a year.

I tried this as well even to KIA guys as well. To my utter luck, they have experienced the drive at those time where there was no noise or it was so minimal that guys says ignore it and/or this much noise will be there.

What i have observed is that car with cold start has more cracking/rattling noise compared to the one driven for a while.

Some body in other forum suggested to use WD40 Silicone on doors and trunk rubber lining as due to dry rubber, there can be noise. Not sure if that makes sense for a new car.

Spray WD40 on suspected area, usually it’s roof rail, rubber of sun roof and door rubbers, and it usually happen in morning time. Some time rubber parts shrink and by day time it get back. I had same experience and after spraying it it’s fine

Guys I currently own a sedan and wanting to upgrade to Sportage FWD. Although I have never been a fan of its shape but the interior quality was good.

Before jumping in to make the decision, I have a few queries:

1. Does it feel like a SUV when you sit in it? Because the ground clearance is an inch more than Grande.
2. Average/Mileage in Karachi?
3. Maintenance? Is it very expensive?
4. I have heard that new shape be coming this year end or the next. Is it wise to buy this shape now? If I wait, you never know this same car will cost 70 lacs by end 2023.
5. I wanted to buy Oshan X7 but when i saw alsvin quaity with my own eyes, I was very disappointed.

1. You can't compare it with Prado or LC or any other proper SUV seating, but Sportage being a crossover, you'll have a SUVish feel and a much better seating posture than Grande. I'm telling you this by experience as I also upgraded from Altis to Sportage FWD.

2. Average/Mileage entirely depends on your driving style, if you drive with a light foot, it will give you more or less the same average as Grande. I'm getting around 10-11 kmpl in the city and around 14-14.5 kmpl on the highway.

3. As far as periodic maintenance is concerned, it is expensive a little bit in comparison with Grande if you maintain it at the dealership because of the maintenance period (3 months or 5k Kms) set by the KLMC if you want to keep the warranty of your Sportage, but if you maintain it from any other workshop, then it's more or less the same.

4. It is the dilemma of the Pakistani auto market that it's better to get the car now even on the premium, rather than waiting and getting it later because it will definitely cost you much more than even with the ON price costing you now and according to my sources, the new shape of Sportage is coming in Mid 2023 which is more than a year away and we'll definitely see a couple of price increase in between this period. So, my suggestion is you buy sooner rather than later.

5. In my opinion, spending your money on these Chinese products now isn't a wise decision. However, maybe, they improve the quality of their products in the future and make their market in Pakistan's auto industry, but right now, based on their quality and overall aftersales, a big NO.

The rest is your personal choice.

What is the delivery time on FWD these days? I went to CLIFTON Karachi dealership, they said August 2022. Or if you have a contact in LMC then use it as we have seen priority deliveries as early as 30 days.

Reference to the attached picture, I do not understand why labor charges are mentioned twice starting 10k service. Ek labor charges top pe likhe hain amounting 5650 and then dusre neechay likhe hain 8820 with tax. Thats approx 14500 labour charges, why?

And these car washes wroth 2300 ware mandatory on every service?

Labor charges are just once that is 5,000 (mentioned on top)
2,000 for car wash falls under services slab (for tax calculations) and hence total of 7,000 + 910 tax is summed and total at bottom.

No, full car wash is not mandatory. you may opt for top wash worth 1,000 or simply avoid both altogether.

Their major interest is in that 5K inspection charges.

Only one reverse light. The other is the fog light on the rear.

I also upgraded from Grande FL but to AWD.
Driving position is higher and slightly better. Haven’t driven an SUV so wouldn’t know if it is like that or not.
AWD drive avg is Karachi is 8-9 with AC. FWD May give a bit higher. Light foot and avg. traffic.
About maintenance @alibintahir is correct. But I’ll add that if you have an average running of 2k km per month or higher, it would not be very different from Corolla.
One advantage of the Sportage is comfort coming from a combination of very good seats and a comfortable suspension setup.
