Patch like drawn on bottom of rear door of this picture. Took this picture from a post in this thread and patch is not there on this Sportage. May be it is required to be removed.

Don't remove the patch. It is on both rear doors and is likely there for paint protection if the door is opened and its lower edge accidentally struck onto curb or pavement.

Exactly. What do ppl expect from a mini SUV if they get 9-10 from a sedan.
I drove all the way to Sapat Beach from Karachi. On road it gave till 10.7. and on off-road on sand dunes it gave 9.6 where the RPM was fluctuating between 2000-3500. Overall it performed very well I believe. Now this is 10k km driven, didnt feel lack of power even anywhere neither on road or off-road.
Within city also it's giving 9-9.5 km/l with normal driving style. Neither rough nor too soft.
So according to body weight, type Sportage is pretty much okay consumption wise.

Guys whats the verdict on AWD vs FWD? Specifically value for money and resale of both models. Asking for a friend.

I test drove Kia Sportage from one of the dealers in Lahore and was impressed with its ride quality, Quality of materials used & its panoramic sunroof.
IMO if you have no concerns with its 9 kmpl fuel average, there is nothing to dislike in Kia Sportage.
Its a well built machine with comfortable drive and options (AWD).
Congratulations to all owners for making a good choice.

Exactly, one should be literate enough to research what one is getting. Getting a non hybrid vehicle that too an SUV and then cursing for consumption is total absurdity.

1. RS turbo
2. Sportage (or Tucson, looks are subjective but haven't seen Tucson in person, Sportage looks though)
3. Getting a used but Honda Dealership maintained turbo and trying to mod it, after seeing @spano doing a superb job on his recently purchased used but well kept turbo.

Sportage FWD ex-factory price including WHT is Rs 4,999,000/-. I've heard it's selling on premium (i.e. OWN).
Apparently it doesn't seem possible but still you can try. You may get lucky. Good luck!

Still very early days with mine (barely 150kms on the ODO) but seems to be delivering appalling economy so far. Not exactly a worry for me though as fuel is reimbursed by my company.

If you can live with filling HOBC, Turbo is the best option overall - especially used Turbo as it is great value for money. Though I must say I'm highly impressed after driving my Sportage, and if power and fun is less important for you then Sportage is great.

Indeed it is. Definitely exceeded my expectations after driving it.

Do note that I've barely driven it a couple of times. The lack of ambient noise, road noise and engine noise was a surprise as I have sound insulation in both my current cars and yet it felt quieter. Suspension is really supple and I only took it upto 80-90kph but that was along the coast line and did not feel any lack of stability. I'm driving very slowly as its a new engine but still I couldn't really feel a lack of power which I had imagined as my daily drivers are CL9 and 1.5 Turbo. But I will know more when I push it. Steering is light but okayish at high speed. Brake feel and exhilarator feel is also good - I love floor-hinged exhilarator pedal. Audio system sounds nice and air conditioning is powerful. The only thing that I don't like is of course the upright driving position, especially compared to Civic X.
