No one in sane mind would hit the brakes real hard seeing those potholes which r not that deep with high speed like 90 or 100 lets assume.. Every driver knows hitting brakes hard at high speed has its consequences so no body would do it unless the pothole is really deep n horrible which doesnt seem like as in the pics..... I think

I have been on more rough road patches than the one in picture at higher speeds or even some unmarked home made speed bumps without an issue. However, I do not really know the consequences of breaking right before a pot hole. But still I feel the suspension of a cross over or compact suv should be strong enough to boldly face such torture. This type of damage due to fairly acceptable road surface as in picture is beyond my comprehension.
I own a Honda HR-V (non hybrid vezel) and have been to Keil AJK on it with bad patches appearing all of sudden still not a single issue related to tyre , rim or suspension happened. Why so with a bigger and supposedly robust KIA Sportage. There is got to be a sold reason for it other than various assumption.

If brother @fazalwahab11375 thinks it's because of that joke of a pothole or rough patch.. and not Kia's fault... Then what is Sportage meant to be? A toy car for a 5 year old?

Even the most brittle and fragile cars in the world would have no issues with that so called rough patch.

No matter how you try to shape it, the fault is still in Sportage.

@Xulfiqar what kind of car do you know of that would have its entire brake and wheel system broken down on that so called rough patch. Car made of paper.?

To me the last paragraph contains probable cause of the accident.

The pothole and/or small rocks on the road cannot alone contribute to such a catastrophic loss to the vehicle.

that is quite interesting that you think its the company's fault if you saw their vehicles getting towed, its important to know the back story before coming to a conclusion.

Sporatge Alpha is good car in price. If you dont want to carry weight of sunroof and some features like brake hold or electric brake. Its high ride with decent engine and interior. Keeping in mind grande and civic are near the price. Truly VSA and traction control should be added but there should be no tail issue as they are fromt wheel drive. Its better buy for city driving not best though. I prefer it on grande or civic due to possoble shape change in year or so.

I would like to add, crossover/ SUV are more prone to rollover because of higher centre of gravity so, availability of VSC is much more important in these vehicles. Its scientifically proven with extensive data that how important the system is especially in the SUV/Crossover segment.

Why not get a fully loaded Grande.

Sportage, raised with no traction control can be tricky.

But it also has much higher ground clearance. If your deciding factor is ground clearance then consider it.

But Grande itself has decent clearance.

Both are not off-roading vehicles.

Grande and civic are better cars but they are almost 6 years old and its better to wait for shape change rather then spending 4million on thse cars.
No doubt VSC and TRC are important and must have but before 2010 very few crossovers or even SUVs has got it like old prado LCs Pajeros and even Hiluxes. So may be one shud sacrifice that even if you drive modern Suvs its very rarely u get TRC sign in dash unless you really drive aggressively.
Please be clear it is must have option but devoiding it may not fail the vehicle altogether
In end it is personal choice and people try and choose new things all the time.

Off course that's understood regardless even if you are in top of the line Maybach. The systems does not help crazy drivers..

Thank you all for your feedback... I am looking forward to buying a KIA Sportage for my daily city drive I had the option to go for a civic or a grande but I don't think civic or grande offer any more comfort than Sportage my other option was the Prado 2006 model, even though most of you would agree that Prado is a better option I am not personally a fan of used cars.
I hope we all will agree on the fact that Toyota and civic are 2 of the best cars in Pakistan but their build quality is average in fact the civic 1.5 turbo was a nightmare for honda and their customers. The thing that bothers me while buying KIA is not that civic or grande are better options than the Sportage, but that the resale value is not as good...
