So, according to your claim, Sportage has 6.77 inch ground clearance, as per manufacturer rating. But Grande doesn't have 6.88 inch ground clearance. Am I correct?
Lets ignore Grande, lets take Civic's official 6.02 inch ground clearance. Personally driven it, it loves hugging speed bumps. Also had Grande, it would almost never hit speed bumps unless it was fully loaded. So the Grande's ground clearance is clearly higher than Civic. So if 6.02 inch Civic ground clearance is accurate, then Grande's ground should be above 6.5 inch as per my personal experience, and as per experience of a lot of people, if you don't already know Corolla is popular in Pakistan because of higher ground clearance and softer suspension than Civic. Therefore 6.88 inch ground clearance for Grande seems accurate.
Now if you claim that both Civic's and Grande's ground clearances are wrong, then clearly you're in blind love with Sportage.
I also don't understand why you're taking lower ground clearance as a negative? Do you know that low ground clearance lowers the center of gravity and improves handling? A car with low ground clearance sticks close to the ground more strongly, and is therefore less likely to topple or roll over when abrupt and sharp turns are made.
Sportage is made for paved roads, therefore it has low ground clearance to improve handling.
I personally was considering buying Sportage, since Sportage has Grande's ground clearance, its enough for city driving for me. But I am hesitating to buy it because of reliability issues, dealerships charging exuberant prices for regular maintenance and reports of not honoring the warranty claims. I am now waiting to see if Hyundai treats its customers right, if yes, then may buy Tucson.
