Onething is clear that sporatge has better ground clearence practically and theoretically. Even Sunnel sab mentioned tht too. Ab koi na manay tu bhai zahir hai uska tu koi ilaj nai hai. Getting cars in ur shops doesnt mean u kno abt the cars.
Genuine owners share experiences good or bad. Why they try to prove its best buy. I used Honda and toyota in past and i never givr any bad reviews even having some isolated problems but thts not universal. Thse are cars not life partners that you have to keep all life. Buy it use it until u like and sell it move on. Buying new grande or civic at this time is not clever as shape change is expected soon.
I would have consider new corolla if it is available now.
If i have got any problems or in future I get bored with sportage i sell it and buy whatever option available at that timr. Trends in dollar price i will get invoice price atleast.

if anyone of genuinely bought the Sportage from KIA dealership, please confirm that after the downpayment when are we supposed to pay the full price? because in my case I gotta pay it exactly 3 weeks after the downpayment. thankyou

i was reading the the posts above and i want to make a correction for some of you. sportage is not a "hatch back" or a "crossover" internationally it is categorized as a "compact SUV".

KIA company operated showroom (Lucky One Mall, Karachi) told me three important things:

1) Do NOT get any type of coating done on your car, it will void the 03 years paint warranty, the car already comes coated with paint protection.

2) Do NOT pay extra to any dealer for undercoating, the car already comes undercoated.

3) 19L initially for the AWD booking, then rest 15 days before delivery. Also, incase of a price hike, you have 15 days to complete full payment to get the car at previous price.

Not sure, you can google and call the Kia Lucky One Mall showroom, it's open today till 8-PM I believe. Ask them if this is normal.

Current gen Sportage is a "compact crossover SUV". Source 1, Source 2, Source 3 (wikipedia)

Sportage was categorized as compact SUV until 2005.

The balancing weight and amount of weight on the rim shows that someone knew about the damage and still did the balance.. The vehicle is maintained at dealership. Seems like damage happened at dealer and they did the balance.. Thoughts????

It is possible for the rim to be damaged with intact tire, my Audi A4's 19 inch rim was damaged after hitting tall cat's-eye without a single mark on tire. But as you said, the number of weights suggest the dealership knew about it before delivery.

PakWheels is not a credible source for such information. I gave links to Car and Driver and Edmunds, even Wikipedia mentions compact cross-over SUV.

about point number one, yes it is very much possible to dent the rim without damaging the tyre, i can say this because it happened to me when i accidentally hit a pot hole at around 60 or 70 Kms/H

The axle line clearance is not measured in a sedan. Its a road vehicle, not an offroad truck with portal axles

The axle line clearance also is almost constant as the wheels will lift that off (same reason a diff pumpkin doesnt hit a speedbreaker)

While the area between the two axles will hit.

If you measure clearance of both from the same spot, Corolla is 172mm while Sportage is 270mm.

Sportage is obviously higher no matter where you measure it from.

That excessive weight on the bent side suggests someone already knew of the issue and tried to balance the wheel to minimise the excessive wobble it might be causing in daily run. Could be the dealership covered it up when the owner complained of wheel wobble in the initial 1000km or 5000km service intervals. Or perhaps a third party wheel shop did it when the owner brought the car to them with wheel wobble complain.

Nevertheless, the excessive weight does suggest the problem was already known to someone.

270mm is about 11 inches

You sure its that high? Even chevy silverado are 8.5 inches off the ground, same as land cruiser
