Most probably a cover up by the authorized dealership. But chances of it being done by a third party wheel balancing shop are less because whenever they see a bent rim they do tell the owner. They even try to straighten/lessen it as much as possible with a hammer. Otherwise usually they don't do the balancing and advise the owner to get it replaced.
In any case it is too much to have a feeling of drive safety, specially at high speeds.
Since the authorized dealership has declined to honour the warranty, the owner should either spend 90 k to get a new rim, or replace all four (after market with same offset) in almost the same amount of money.
