Any 1 noticed the front tiger nose grill in the local assembled Stonic which wasn't there in earlier pictures of international variant shared on forum ?

So same difference as the difference between Alpha and FWD Sportage, but an entire change of segment. Most people pay extra 5 lakhs just to get a sunroof and e-brake between Alpha and FWD (FWD is the best selling variant). Hence there is even more chance that a prospective Stonic buyer would pay 5 lakh extra and opt for the bigger segment car.
It will all boil down to whether stonic is a better buy than civic and corolla. Will people be willing to pay this much for a bit raised hatchback. Despite features , does it actually justify the price tag.
Let's hope official pricing is below 3.5 .
In case of sportage - there was no other car in that price bracket that would compete with it so having it slightly higher priced from civic/grande actually worked for sportage.
But for stonic, if they price it few lacs over city/yaris - there are already civic/brv/altis in that bracket so Stonic will have competition.
Ex is something around 3.4 - 3.5. Both variants will have 4-5 lacs difference
They have closed alpha bookings. Hence 3.8 million price seems true. They have suspended alpha so they can sell this product successfully instead of alpha cannablizing its sales

in other countries starting price of 1.4 Kia Stonic is from 3.2m so hopefully ex version will be less than 3.5m and ex plus will be 3.7-3.9
KIA lucky Motor is trying to get those customer who are into Honda city, Toyota Yaris and Changan alsvin, for eg many civic X and Altis owners has shifted to KIA sportage fwd and Hyundai Tucson.

But why someone with 3.8 Million should shift to a small 99HP crossover with compact space in rear seats ?? Why someone should not choose Corolla, Civic , Elantra. 3.8 Million for EX+ [ If that the price] is too far for Yaris and City customers. Again I am sure KIA did their homework and know market better.

There is no reason whatsoever to shift from corolla or civic to stonic.
Kia thinks that if they converted Civic or Corolla buyers to Sportage by keeping around Million more in price and they can do same by keeping Stonic 6 to 800K more than Yaris or City.. I dont think that formula will be very much successful. Why that customer will not go for Corolla or Civic ?..

Well Fazal, in Pakistan we don't have much choice and in future price of civic XI and new Altis would be over 4.5m or closing to 5m. This is why ppl r shifting to Sportage and Tucson, About stronic most ppl won't care about engine power just like corolla xli/gli but rather think of crossover as trend of crossover is growing worldwide, few weeks back I was in Turkey n saw few Stonic on the roads even though it's small as Rio hatch but still ppl are buying, saw a lot of peugeot 2008 & 3008. The most selling crossover I saw was Tucson even Police have Tucson in Istanbul. So my guess is more ppl will shift to crossover be it small or underpower as imported hatch n crossover are also going high price.

I don't think it will sell if the price of Stonic will be 6-8lacs more than Yaris, that will be doom of Stonic or maybe it will pickup mkt later like kia picanto.
KIA just increased prices of their product line, Anything is expected now for Stonic and 3.8 Million can be real.. lets wait.
