I think stonic is more spacious than vitz and aqua?hence good enough for family of 4 people all adults. With relatively high seating position, it gives even better space.

In 2019 price of Sportage were slightly higher coz at that time there were no competitor, I got awd Sportage for 5.4m in Aug 2019.
KLM has kept the price of Stonic for 3.7-3.9 which is quite high compare to other countries. It should be 3.4-3.6

The target market is definitely young adults where the father has a Corolla and young adults go for a honda City or Yaris.

Boot Space, Cabin space isn't their concern.

This is definitely not a product for BRVs target market that too roughly stands at 3.65 million.

That's a very confusing market, if it can be considered a market at all..

Could have created a market though if it was priced right .

The target market is either people who already have a Corolla/Sportage/Civic at home (Stonic as a 2nd or 3rd car), or single people and young couples who have the budget of a Corolla, because let's face it buying a Corolla or a City is very boring, and Stonic might be better in general driving pleasure and overall experience. Which is why I feel they should have offered the dual tone paint options as well, that would have made it really attractive. Oddly enough I think the main competition for it right now is Elantra, which is also being bought by the same people who are sick of Corolla and Civic. It will definitely remain a niche market vehicle though. Like a VW Golf, Beetle or a Mini Cooper.

3 months back you got the alpha at 43 price point. That is much bigger car engine wise and space wise and a proper crossover suv.

What KLM has done is just increase the price of Alpha and make it unavailable (suspend the booking) . One person who came to book alpha yesterday at the dealerahip asked me indirectly if I would like to sell it for 51. They have just made the lower end variant out of reach of masses so people have no choice but to book stonic. I would say masterclass at their end but a shit step for the end customers.

They have put a daylight in stonic and sportage now. I thought at first stonic won't sell well but can't say that now as price difference between both cars is mammoth

Yes I forgot to add this, Alpha variant is basically useless now. At a price point of 4.6 million it makes no sense to get one, it was meant to be an upgrade for Corolla and Civic users. Expect very low Alpha bookings now. My Alpha is October delivery fully paid and if they apply the price increase, I will cancel my booking and ask for a refund and also send them a legal notice for recovery of interest charges against the 1 million that was deposited. At 4.6 million, I would rather buy a Civic RS used or simply go for an Elantra.

Kia stonic is priced atleast 5 lac more than what it is worth in current market keeping in view its competitors.
A hatch back raised 1 inch with cheap plastic body claddings does not justify its ridicules price.
This stonic is basically Kia Rio hatch. Which competes with the likes of suzuki Swift and Cultus and should be priced like wise.
