Back in 2019 I went to Khunjerab in September and took the Babusartop route. Naran was deserted and we saw very little traffic. It was a memorable trip to be honest. We got good deals on hotels and accommodation because it was off season.

I agree with you . We visited Naran in August 2019 and stayed there for two weeks. Alhamdolillah, we performed our first eid ul adha in naran. I haven't visited naran in the past five years. Insha'Allah, if I'm free next year I will visit again. Here are some pictures i took in 2019. On my last day, the cold increased and one could clearly see the mountains with no clouds.

Use Naran Babusar road. That is good. After Chilas some bad patch on KKH.
