i always wondered when i see very low mileage imported cars on market in Pakistan.

I dont know about Japan, but atleast for UK models I can share information for pak wheelers for their peace of mind

Many cars have hidden history in UK, CAT D(repairable insurance write-off salvage cars), CAT C( stolen or write off cars -need DVLA check before car can be on the road again) accident history.

I know many of the cars sent to Pakistan in the past have been stolen and many on finance/lease in UK, i think this has been stopped by the authorities but you can always check.

there are two ways of checking the history of the cars in UK
one is free via govt motoring agencies websites but for that you need registration number in UK plus the reference number OR the MOT certificate number

Check your vehicle's MOT status and history online : Directgov - Motoring

and there are other sites that check for very less amounts

It used to happen in the past but not anymore. Now you're not allowed to ship from the Uk without an HPI check.

Once the vehicle reaches Pakistan there is another check. So basically it is checked at both ports.

all cars arriving from uk go through a HPI check by customs and also one should also do himself when buying a car MOT is also a god way of checking mileage.
