Issue seem to arise from knowledge spread by untrained mechanics, which is more like toyotas are the best etc.
the points i wud like to make are
1. people cannot admit that the car they currently have is not good
2.people tend to exagurate things a lot here, like consumption "my corolla does 14-15 easy with A/c in city traffic", does 0-100 hundred in 8 sec, top speed is above 200 etc.
3. they spend more on the looks of the car then on its mechincal fitness
4. misunderstndings about how the engine works
i personally feel that people never push their cars to really know wat the machine is capable of and what r its limits. they think the engine will be khatam if they touch the red zone a few times.
my philosphy is that the car is for my own convinience and enjoyment it should perform given all routine maintenance is done. people tend to comfort the car trying to avoid all bumps, never braking hard and saying that brake are perfect, they only realize when they meet an accident
