KP Floods

Flash floods this month have killed more than 1,500 people across Pakistan, mostly in northwestern KP and affected four million people. Most have lost their homes and belonging and desperately waiting help.

Started 5.00 am on Wednesday from Islamabad and went to Charsada-Peshawar-Charsada-Peshawar-Pabbi-Risalpur-Nowshehra-Peshawar-Islamabad. Our ride was Kia Sportage 05. The pix are from Lumix DMC-ZS3. Did not carry my usual gear. Most of the pix are video grabs and nothing special about them, except they show the plight of our flood-affected fellow citizens in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

@karakoram. It is a huge tragedy
@omaqsood. Omar, people from Peshawar, Charsadda and other cities and those who were spared by flooding are helping the victims, providing them food, but government was missing in action in the area of providing food and shelter. The victims told us that only private citizens were helping them and the relief goods were ending up in the hands of people not affected by flood.

Heart-rending pictures for sure. May Allah give "Silah" to the helping parties. It makes me happy to see that people still care for one another and that means there's still hope for our dear country.

Its sure does help to know that there's HOPE.

Its my first year away from homeland and I am feeling so helpless that I am not there physically to play my part (monetary help aside) but when I see people rushing up to these places to help others out, its kind of heartwarming.
