Shaukat Ali was a care free type, 15 year old young boy. He was in no way close to a professional guide or porter.

In the evening (after seeing this heavy rain) he told me that if there is rain tomorrow, we will not be able to go to lake. He was tired perhaps. I replied, if I dont go to lake tomorrow, I am not going back either. He understood that sahib will not go back without visiting the lake. So, he thought for a moment, and said, If there is no rain, we will go to lake inshallah. Tomorrow morning the weather will be clear, I said, just start early.

With an ordinary point and shoot camera, a totally non-photographic state of mind, overwhelmed by the beautiful wilderness, this was all I could do. Next time I promise to concentrate more on photography.

In the evening, Ajab Khan asked me for any instructions about cooking of chicken we have brought with us.
I told him to use low salt, chillies and oil. And add lot of water, and keep cooking longer..

And he prepared delicious chicken, fully cooked, with lots of thin curry. With home cooked bread (roti,s) it was great dinner at a great place.

There were few huts of locals, some distance away, towards left side and back of cottage. Activity for preparation of evening meals seems to have started there.

They were old houses, perhaps damaged by snow each winter and repaired again in start of summer.

This is area behind the cottage and across these trees is the valley with great waterfalls.
