KYB Shock Absorbers availability

Why is the market out of KYB shock absorbers? I am specifically looking for Axio 2007 shock absorbers but everyone seems to have the variant which will fit fine in Axio 2007 but they are not meant for it i.e. they are Rough Road package and so are not soft.

Front set:
KYB 333455
KYB 333456

Rear set:
KYB 341420

Agriauto compatible are available but again, they won't be soft. Specifically looking in Rawalpindi/Peshawar with no luck. I have also searched the import database and it looks like no body other than Agriauto is dealing with KYB Officially? meaning everything in the market of KYB might be gray/smuggled/container and might as well be FAKE.

Rear set:

New Genuine shocks of Axio 2007 are not available in any country.

new parts can be obtained from any 3S Shop using exact part number or by providing vehicle model code & year AE101 1998 KP 70 1984 etc etc

AFAIK, shocks have specifications for damping and rebound. What do the terms "hard" and "soft" mean in this context as you have used them?

I can attest to the same. My Axio's ride was no longer soft as soon as I changed parts to the PKDM. Went in search of genuine shocks (exact code) to restore the ride softness. On a regular bumpy road for example, not talking about pot holes, just a regular bumpy road, I could feel the shocks a lot more to the point that would have to reduce speed on the same road...

If you check in KYB shock Catalogue, PKDM parts are usually listed as "ROUGH ROAD PACKAGE". I believe the shaft is thicker on these and the rebound/softness is changed. There's a reason parts are tagged differently by KYB, else one shock for every market would suffice.

P.S. Rear Axio springs do not sit properly on PKDM shocks, one has to change the springs too.

As much as i know.
If you install shocks in a similar weight car with similar suspension geometry then they are not going make any difference.
But if you install ae101 shocks in ae80 which is like 200kg less in weight then yes they will feel harder because they are manufactured according to the weight of ae101. Means different rebound and damping.
I think here we are mixing other region models with pkdm. Pkdm cars are lifted due to our road conditions.

The damper (shock absorber) is also valved differently to cope with more jarring and also made to work with their respective springs.

I think users here are also comparing dead struts to new ones, dead/weak struts will make a car "glide" on the road like an old caddy but crash in potholes.

KYB shocks are of lower quality and stiff compared to genuine ones. And are usually stiff. If you find KYB shocks soft while original ones hard than you probably have old stock struts which are not much of a help.

I have changed all the shocks in my 2004 city with genuine ones and would suggest you do the same. It costed around 55k but the ride is very comfortable. KYB shocks are not as good as the genuine shocks and are just a cheaper alternative.

Wrong! I used 11th gen corolla with agriauto crap for 100k kms. Car used to jump and float like a boat. It was the same when I purchased new. Glad that after some time front leaked and at 115k kms rear one leaked. There is no oem in Pakistan now, its just agriauto crap.
Fitted kyb Excel-g and now its way stable then agriauto. I can drive on same roads at 100 where I used to drive at 70-80 because car used to take hits like a jupiter snogging with mars.
