Sad to hear about death of both persons BTW that Waheed was the same guy & was very much into classic bikes. The bikes avialable on his GT road workshop was its side bussines.

For those who are interested in trekking. I have uploaded some scanned pages on trekking from the book "Pakistan - a travel survival kit" by Jose Roleo Santiago, 1987 edition. The original was written in 1981 and updated in 1987.

The information about the roads and facilities are out-dated, so are the rates, but the actual treks are almost the same today. Although, because of new roads etc., the start-off points may have changed, for some treks.

It is in PDF format (scanned pages), 2.2MB, 48 pages, including 10 maps (line drawings).
