L275S Daihatsu Mira Engine Swap

Hi guys. I’ve purchased a Daihatsu Mira 2007 with L275S engine at a very fair price and as expected the engine is not up to the mark.

The chassis number suggests it’s a L275S engine (CVT tranny) but the gear shifts/jerks feels like it is a 4 speed auto. The gear pattern is D, S, B. The main issue is the mileage. It’s doing extra poor milage (4-5kms per litre). I’m confused if I should invest on car tuning or should do an engine swap?

I’m confused because Car’s pick/acceleration and speed is great. It shifts all the gears within 3000rpms (driving on light foot). The AC is working great as well.

What should I do with the engine? If I do swap should I just swap the head assembly or the whole engine?

you should invest in visting a proper workshop for proper assessment and diagnosis
with people with skills + tools and machines to check codes, camera to check cat etc

I went to bilal gunj at a good mechanic and had the head assembly changed since AC and gear were working fine so was the throttle body.

Changes made are as follows:

New head assembly 27k
New CAT 24k
New mounts two for 6k
Labour 5k

After all this was done the care was turning off on idling when AC was on. Tried to adjust the throttle but that wasn’t working either. Turned out there was some alterations made in the wiring. Had the computer diagnosed and fixed that issue as well (500rs).

Now apparently one last issue remains. Car is overheating even when the radiator fan is direct (all time on). Mechanic says it’s a gasket issue and will be resolved by repair. The engine is still in 8 days warranty. Should I go through the lengthy jugaru process again or just have that repaired?
