What are the effects ?

Stuffing/lining the enclosure with polyfill wont hurt, infact it will help in reducing the resonance and ringing of the enclosure. But it will have none or no significant effect on the tuning frequency since that almost entirely depends on the port area (length and width). So go ahead and use the polyfill. Just becarefull in and around the port because it may introduce or exxagerate port noise if not properly done.

Its better to line the ported enclosure with polyester sheet rather than filling them. Lining will not contribute to the overall increase in the enclosure volume, maybe 1 to 5 percent which is insignificant thus will not change the tuning frequency.

Lining the walls helps to eliminate the destructive back waves, thus increasing performance and a better sound from the sub.

ask here..:). I was also planning to lining the poly fill not stuffing it ..
