It has been 2-3 months that i'm having this issue :
Initial Issue and action taken
- Idle would not increase on AC or early morning start
- Got throttle body serviced
- Diagnostic check and isolated the fault as Auto-choke (IACV) required replacement
- Replaced IACV and then all adjustments related to petrol and CNG idle were optimumly done
- No problems for 7-10 days
Later Issue
- While tuning the mechanic fitted a disc type item with a 1" hole in air-cleaner stating that all lancer fitted with CNG had this air control adapter to give better cng consumption
- within a day or two i realized that the acceleration of my car was chocked and after about 2 cng fills the average was considerably low (100km with ac as compared to 150km earlier)
- I tried adjusting cng flow but no good, so i removed the disc type item and put the cng setting back to where it always was ... (good pick and economy, last two fills averaged above 160km with ac)
BUT WHILE DOING ADJUSTMENT THE AUTO-CHOKE STOPPED WORKING
NOW IF I RESET THE ECU ITS STARTS WORKING AND THEN AFTER A WHILE (MAX HALF AN HOUR OF RUNNING) IT STOPS WORKING UNTIL RESET IS DONE .. IN THE LAST WEEK SINCE I'VE BEEN FACING THIS ISSUE, ONLY ONCE IT STARTED FUNCTIONING ON ITS OWN BUT FOR A SHORT WHILE
My assessment
-- i should clean auto-choke as it was never cleaned and being kabli was really dirty
-- there is an adjustment of auto-choke (LN key hole) needs to be done but i'm afraid as i have no knowledge and with one visit to mitsubishi motors i'm afraid of going there either
auto-choke new is expansive (28k) and finding kabli for a 1.6 lancer is tough so i do not afford experiments, please help guide me
