Land Rover For Restoration

Salam,

i want to buy Land Rover Defender and Restore it, can anyone guide me from where i can buy land rover in cheap price?
Registered Chasis and good condition body will be enough for me rest i will change.
As i am new so dont know much about these things please guide.

If you are new then stay away from a Landi-Brotherly advise. Here in the land of the pure, a Toyota Jeeps is hard to restore what to say about a Landi...

i am just thinking to restore it to its orignal condition nothing else, i will change engine and interior as well for better look and perfomance.

Inorder to restore to its original condition, you will need new parts from the UK. Pricy stuff

Restoring isn't cheap, and it's not everyone's cup of tea. It's easy to say, yeh Kar donga, woh Kar donga. 70 percent beginners who initiate a project of a large scale end up with a screwed up vehicle. I suggest you mention your budget, your utility of the said project vehicle, and we can start from there

Mandi Bahauddin is the Land Rover Capital of Pakistan. Plenty of parts available there. You can even get good vehicles from there.

Actually i am from Mandi Bahauddin, last year i visit the market and a mechanic was selling a defender in reasonable price at that time. but the defender obviously need denting painting and engine overhaul, tyres etc

Ive wrenched on defenders a lot - if you are going to be wallet holder for this project in Pakistan, might as well find some "satta broker" and burn your money there.

All mechanics / denter painter will say - Jee sirr kaam hojayga, bilkul inglish wala - while infact they wont know the first ABC of it.

just try asking how to set the tappets on a modern 300 tdi engine - or if they know how to time its injection pump. Or ask them what oil goes in the manual gear box. If you are looking at an old model - reworking the swivel ball axles can be a very expensive mistake if you are not aware of the "one shot" slumping grease that goes in there. They were originally filed with EP90 gear oil which leaks like crazy if the ball surfaces are not smooth.

They cannot even get an old land cruiser swivel set correctly.
