Hey guys.
Have you ever seen those Muslim aid, Red cross, Red crescent, UNICEF and so on tv ads where they show some poor kids and families then ask you to donate, just a tiny amount and that it will suffice to purchase food etc. For a whole month?
What I've noticed- red cross pays 10 pound an hour in uk for those street collectors.
That's a lot of money. Usually, people just give spare change in pennies and sometimes, there is a chance of a fiver or a tenner being collected.
Then they advertise it on tv, big billboards and what not.
So, say I give 1000-/ rupees- which amount goes to the needy, After deducting salaries, advertising costs, maintenance and other random costs; 300-500?
Anyways, forget that.
Landa. Are the items which are sold in Landa donated by people worldwide? I passed by a bin yesterday and obviously having experienced Landa culture, this question came into my mind.
Or it could be that charities in Pakistan sell the donated clothes to Landa stall owners, and spend the cash generated on the poor.
Any one have any opinions?
