You are right, that capacitor issue can happen with any company. But the difference with DELL is that they take ownership of their fault, since they make majority of their own parts in house. Where as HP puts the blame on 3rd party vendors.
The bro that bought Acer, good luck. Its OK machine, but in US, Acer does not have much market. I guess in case of Pakistan, where Warranty is not honored, no authorized dealers, just some people that stick the label DELL, or HP retailer on their shop sign board, it does not matter which laptop you buy.
As any computer can malfunction, but the quality of the laptop depends on how far does the manufacture back you up and honor their warranty and promise of service after the sale of their product. Sadly, in my experience, HP does not stand behind their products for necessary after sale support, even in USA.
DELL all the way. I am not associated with DELL Co, although one of my cousin works for DELL in Chicago, but that is irrelevent. I am a DELL fan from long ago.
