Last oil changed in april

Hi guys. i have corolla 2015 gli. last i changed the oil on 16 april during lockdown and till now car is dirven 3000 km . i poured 10w40 total oil.

now its almost 6 months so driven only 3000 km so planning to change it now with 5w30 fully synthetic oil.

suggest me any good brand. last time i used 5w30 pso carient in my honda city d15b and it was amazing oil.

total odo meter reading is 76000 km

10w40 is thick. Use total 5w30, i use it in my altis 1.6.

IMO, you may stick with 10w-40, or may change the brand to ZIC Fully Synthetic, else if, first try Caltex / Havoline 10w-30.

If it works fine, only then switch to 5w-30 fully synthetic, or may be even semi-synthetic from any reputed brand (Total, Shell, Kixx, Valvoline, PSO, etc.)

If you observe any problem, always switch to next grade.

10w-40 ---> 10w-30 ---> 5w-30 (if all goes well)

5w-30 ---> 10w-30 ---> 10w-40 (if / when any problem related to engine oil consumption / burning arises)

In any case, ensure oil is 100% authentic.

I have no experience with PSO, total has been working great in my corolla. Rest is upto you bro.

Kixx 5w30 is best

avoid imported names, all such products are bootlegged locally. Buy a local brand from the brand name outlet only.

at 3000 no need to change right away., vehicle was in use On & Off during lock down so add 3000 more kms and change at 6000. If you plan to change oil grade change oil filter as well.

There is a famous shop in DHA Phase 2 karachi by the name of Huzaifa Motors. I was told that he himself takes out Toyota CVTF out of the bottle, fills it with Kixx CVTF and then gets it resealed it from the parts shop opposite to his workshop, then sells this resealed "Toyota CVTF" for more than 1500rs profit. Goes to show how easy it is to fool our innocent public.
Ever since then I have been getting oil changes from company operated total pumps and have avoided the likes of Kixx, xteer, puma, etc.

yes i will surely follow your lqst suggestion for 5w30 . i did in my city it was amazing results. i will change filter oil filter and oil

@Salmaanawan DHA 2 Karachi is automobile black market of Karachi. Some body shops do decent work but stealing stuff from the vehicles swapping oem parts with scrap parts is very common practice

@Capsat bhai today i saw the Oil Derbis near the Oil filter , Should i worry about it ? there is thick layer of oil Derbis on Oil filter. car is driven 2700 KM only Since April. Should i complete 4000 Km and then change the oil and Change it now ?

Sir please check engine oil level before start in morning. The moisture / dampness around the oil filter area is very common due to slight spill of oil at installation of new filter.
Wipe the area clean & observe next 100 kms.

I didnt change the oil filter in last Oil change, it was change on before that last oil change, so i just changed the Oil last time in April.

I will remove the Dirt from Oil filter Sourrounding and will see after 100Kms Driving. Can we just change the Oil filter without changing the Oil ? is it possible ?

My advise is to change oil filter everytime during oil change because it's cheap and there is peace of mind and engines are expensive.And air filter after check every 1000 kms and change according to condition.Also take care of cabin air filter.

Agreed, have spent close to 10 years getting work done from that market, personally know a lot of people there, I've seen it degrade to just money minting looters.

user manual of car does not suggest this. 8000 km is oil filter change interval mentioned in almost every car made in Pakistan engine oil is most expensive item and change interval is also mentioned as 6000 to 8000 km at avg. we have a car pool that is why am safely suggesting this.
