when constructions were done in islamabad...filter used to get dust very quickly..but in normal days it take almost triple time

yeah another factor is CNG if ur running ur car on cng experts say with CNG there are less oil change intervals because its more cleaner fuel.

But as far as i know if that honda OIL is API SL or API SJ you can easily use it for 4000+ KM.

I remember once my dad told me. Around 24 years ago he had a corolla 74 in multan he was sitting with other people and a friend came in on his car for some prob asked my dad what you are doin here my dad said changing the engine oil and he was like woh bhi karna hota hai? but i never did for last 3 years and when they tried to drain oil out my dad said only mud (sludge)was coming out and they couldent stop laughing.

A friend of mine bought a Suzuki FX from a budha professor uncle some 2 years back. We went for the payment and when v were about to leave, uncle said. Beta ye mene new 0 meter li thi, abhi tak na to dhoi hay na is ka oil badla hay. Me genuine cheez ko chairne ki favor me he nahi hoon...... and we both were like :o :o :o

We went to service station, changed the oil and filter. Started servicing.... After servicing, the service guy brought a "belcha" and started collecting mud..... My frnd asked, ye subah se itna mud jama hogia hay, he replied, Sir ye sara ap ki gari se nikla hay

Ya these kind of thing happen i mean few weeks ago i was at service station getting my car washed and i am very keen to get my carpet clean even though my service wala says itni saaf gari mere ho tu main tu dhulwao he nahi app ko koi takleef hai lol anyways and a guy came on fx and ata he gari laga dey and said yaar sirf ander hawa mar do.

Service wala said ok woh tu jub us ney hawa kholi it was like koi desert rally start hogaye hai in a min we saw clouds of dust lol and service wala bag kar bahir aya and said bhaag jao es main hawa nahai mar sakta lol.

I am using Castrol Magnetic in my Cultus 2007 and that is API SL. I am planning to change it on 15,000 and it has done so far 12,000. But I have changed the oil filter @ 10,000 Kms. In Saudi Arabia there comes FUCHS Super Syn API SL and that can easily run upto 20,000 Kms even Mobil 1 can run upto 15,000 to 18,000 Kms.

I intend to change at 4000km now, thats my analysis. Hope itll be healthy for the engine (Y)

And the price of the oil, last I bought was less than 1100 rs, not 1260 as someone else mentioned...the 3.6L bottle

Good viscosity and no carbon particles, no need for an oil change..it depends whether u take short trips the oil will stay good a lot longer than if u take long trips..hope that helps..a) short trips, say covering 5000kms by short trips=increased oil life, (b) long trips and same kms=lesser oil life as compared to (a)

thanks dude its a civic 1.8 i should change its oil .cuz its rarely used since 4-5 months and done 4800km .. i alwaz change my oil from honda .

Engine oil should be replaced after 5000 Kms.
Its recommended period by Caltex / Cheveron

the funny thing ......
i hv a porsche boxter i was in city drove like 4500km n i moved to northern alberta canada n winter(08) i stored the car n this spring i took car out from storage n i forgot i did't changed the oil before putting in storage
i drove approx 9000km before i felt that car is nt as good while overtaking ppl on highway n realize i missed the oil change i went lubex n all other oil change shop in my town no body do oil change for porsche n the porsche dealership was about 650km away from where i live so end of story i drove well over 11,000km with out oilchage n worst thing before the oil change while i was on my way gt an accident wt ford f-150 result broken right window,broken side mirror, roof damage,pannel gt scratched ,convertable pannel gt dent n dent on door n back of the car so in this oil change sh^&$ really screwed me .soo guys better safe than sorry check ur owner manual its written there after how mank km u hv to change engine oil

You can check that with the manufacturers to get more sure about it. But do check their international websites and not local.
