Learners Permit's limitations?

Assalam-O-Alikum

So i've been driving without license since 5/6 years now :P. But now a days Traffic police is checking everybody for license so i thought about making one So i asked a friend he said 'You have to get the learners permit first and after 42 days you can apply for permanent one" which i assume is correct?

My query is this. What are the limitations on Learners permit? Do i have to put that weird "L" on my windshields? lol? And am i allowed to drive alone with just a Learners permit.

P.S : I only drive in the city. Don't goto highways unless needed.

When you come on the road, you share road with other users. One must be careful.
If you were driving without license its matter of concern. Yes one can end up having in an accident no matter if one have a license but if you are without license if even its not your fault, law will not protect you. Does not matter you drive in-front of your home in residential street, no license means no driving.
As far as learners, it give you right to drive but that too with a licensed driver sitting in front seat. If you dont have a license driver accompanied, you are not supposed to be driving alone. driving alone on learners permit is same as driving without license. I hope the law gets more strict.

Driving at age of 26 without License is just as Underaged driving.

In case of any incident, law won't protect you even if its not your fault.
