Aoa all. I recently installed win 7 32 bit in my lenovo T 460s laptop. Now the problem is that other than basic display and sound plus keyboard touchpad no other hardware is working due to lack of drivers, incl usb ports. I cant connect this laptop to anything external. Win 7 was installed using a non bootable usb (it wasnt a clean install) now even that usb is not being detected. Plz help

How do i install? Since usb ports are not detecting any usb, there is no dvd rom either in this model

There is no driver so laptop is not connecting to any external source wifi, usb, mobile, even sim card in sim slot
That’s strange. USB should work with generic drivers. You should be able to download the WiFi drivers on another device and transfer via USB.
Yup thats the first time i have seen this anomaly. Now i am trying to arrange a LAN cable and see if it picks up net via LAN
Can you do a full reinstall of win 10 via bootable USB?
Working on that as well. Another option will be to take off HDD connect to dell laptop and run win setup via cd rom
usb are deteced even before the drivers are loaded its even detected if there is no hdd in the laptop create a bootable usb its very very easy
This is one solid laptop, why do you want to go for Windows 7? Why not 10, that would be seamless.
Why did you install 32 bit windows? Doesn't it take 64 bit?
Yup true but it was not picking up any usb or LAN even. Finally made a bootable win 10 usb and installed win 10. Again running win 7 32 bit setup, there are a few very imp softwares i have which are compatible with win 7 32 bit only.

try running them in compability mode for windows 7try accesing it by right clicking on .exe file and select run in compability mode and select windows 7
That software doesn't work that way. It has certain plugins as well which are not access-able in win 10
Guys gave it another try by installing win 7 via running setup over win 10. It did get installed but again nothing is working except display audio and touchpad. I had the drivers downloaded so i got the internet as well, but usb is still dysfunctional and this is the state of drivers
This is despite attempting drivers update from three diff sources. Windows update, manually downloading of driver and auto scan on lenovo website. So i guess its an impossible i should use my legacy dell laptop for the software and keep T460s for youtube and movies only. Thank you guys for your support. Much appreciated
Install windows 10 as your main operating system and be trouble free. Win 7 is discontinued and you will run into more problems in future.For win7 applications install a virtual machine with win7. Oracle vmbox is free.
