I received my electricity bill today and was shocked to see inflated bill. On checking details it seems they have silently increased the price per unit by 42%. I checked many other bills in my area and its the same story. No media outlet has reported this yet.
Old Rate:
Off-Peak: 9.54 Rs. /unit
Peak Hours: 16.04 Rs. /unit
New Rates: (January 2019)
Off-Peak: 13.516 Rs. /unit (42% increase)
Peak Hours: 19.868 Rs. / unit (24% increase)
This will surely result in a new boost to inflation.
