E.g. lets take my above example, back in mid 00s I was offering a rebuilt honda auto box with updated parts and every soft and wear part new with refurbed torque converter and labour for about 100K, at the time scrapyards used to sell them for 15k max.
I only had a handful of customers who paid for the new box, the rest off the street type were “koi jugaar kardo ghareeb aadmi etc”
Today that same box would be 360k (is anyone willing to pay 360k pkr for a honda autobox)?
Or the fact that just the shop tooling alone was above 1 mil back in the day, lifts, air tools, heavy line tools, rigs, storage, power management, book keeping, taxation etc.
The only way to keep such business afloat is to have a limited customer base and just service them and rotate in new as required, meaning keep your doors locked, you dont need to service the showoff moron goofball in daddys pocket as they are literal scum garbage and will only cause grief.
I sometimes mention the stupid practice of Pakistani workshops to my professional freinds here, we have a good laugh (aided by the dumb youtube videos of rigging repair nowadays). It wont ever change because of the customer base and mindset, no one is actually diagnosing and troubleshooting anything in pk now, everyone is loving kabul express and short cut with instagram handle following because customer looks at a problem by wearing their wallet as eyeglasses, for them a problem is fixed whether its fixed with new or scrap, whether fixed with car on jacks or on a lift.
There is another issue, customer thinks they are always right 100% of the time, like If I have spent effort, material and time to shorten my actual labor time (like replacing wheel bearings in situ in less than 1 hour) Im supposed to charge nothing according to them, while they will happily pay loads over loads to a cartoon who is carrying a knuckle to machine shop to have it pressed.
Or If I spend 6 hours diagnosing a problem with my oscope and going pin by pin with multiple scan tools with manufacturer data (which I pay for) - they dont want to pay for my time which is almost 80% of my total day because “aap ne sahee to nahi kya naa, kompooterr se khelrahe hain”
Only do this if you have an actual customer base you service, and dont invite public dealing, they are all characters, you will see guns, empty promises, stolen equipment, fake currency, military, govt pomp - just to rob you. (So have a large sadqa account 
if going public)
