The Auto-Mobile Industry in Pakistan is definately a monopoly. For the Price of the manual Civic they sell in Pakistan, one can get a loaded Honda Accord here. If you build it, they will come. There is a demand for new quality cars. Heck, People often forget Pakistan does have a 10% rich class (Who else profits from corruption), who are known to import BMWs, Mercedes and other latest cars. When there is corruption, there is an elite segment that profits from it. Pakistan needs bigger and better cars. The reason Pakistan's roads get spoiled is the lack of quality cars, the damaged cars making all the damage to the roads.
The investment in the auto-industry is fiesable, we must get out of the Pakistani-Mentality of not doing things, just dreaming them, and start to have an entrepeneur spirit, only then, we can be a successful nation. We need risk-takers, that is the only way Pakistan's economy will rise, and the only way that the Auto-Mobile industry will gain respect.
