Just so everyone knows, this wasn't the standard LFA- it was the Nurburgring edition, a car specifically designed to break the record. Quite frankly, had they not broken the record, it would have been pretty bad.
I wasn't, and still am not the biggest fan of the LFA, but if they intend on using this technology for racing purposes, then I'm all for it. The LFA is a pretty good testing platform for Lexus to begin its experimenting for its racing efforts- Toyota sure as hell isn't going to race like it used to, so might as well let Lexus take the reins on that one. They've developed and tweaked the LFA around the Nurburgring, raced in in the 24 hour race, and finally developed this. Hopefully they'll spearhead a proper racing program at Toyota/Lexus in the near future. I'd like to see a powerful Japanese force in the worldwide racing arena again. Hopefully at Le Mans next year...
