Lexus has pushed the enevlope so much further that every one had to rethink of what they are making. I say it is giving all the luxury car makers a run for their money.

Before the launch of Toyota crown, the big manufacturers were a little worried but they were satisfied after its launch (1976 I think). They had the same thoughts about Lexus before its launch but now it’s the standard their cars are compared with!

Back in 1989 when it was launched, Jeremy Clarkson on BBC Top Gear said, “This is a car better built than a BMW, Jaguar, Audi and I dare say even a ROLLS ROYCE!”

It’s the quietest car ever built and has the best of both the worlds; luxury + performance. It is indeed the relentless pursuit of perfection. And O yeah, it does not go for shortcuts like forced induction (Mercedes couldn’t think of how to increase its performance; they installed big turbos and superchargers). That’s just pathetic! Lexus uses normally aspirated hi-performance engines. They know how to make perfection!!

And Honda lovers, where is your so-called Luxury division…hmm…wait…is it even a luxury car? What’s its name again…O yeah Acura!!

look at the side profile,... it's a 7 series rip off,... which is already a butt ugly car to start with!

Seems the americans have no taste when i comes to cars,... a VW Phaeton or a Audi A/S8 make more sense and are WAY cooler.

@storm to a point i agree that there are negatives and positives but i guess as far as they are sellin he's been doin the right job the 5 series and the 7 are sellin really well i think he just sat and said lets go totally opposite into a different direction new look new design

Sure, everything evolves over time. Computers, cell phones, cameras, watches, and of course cars. No doubt, Lexus has come a long way over the last 17 years.
But as for me personally...7-Series anyday!
