My mehran 2005 with carburetor reset used to do 17/18 local.

last week i met a person who were having japanese car 1500cc and were claiming that he is getting average as 17km/l within city with ac and 22km/l with ac on motorway.
I insisted to see the car and his odo meter as well. And then he started talking like here n there.,,,,,,,, means, he was just trying to relay untrue comments.
Similarly i have read many people claiming that they are having extra ordinary mileages but all with no proofs. These are just stories to tell. This is what i believe frankly.

This is a discussion forum and people share their experiences. at least I don't see one can win a prize here by telling exaggerated mileage. People should be trusted.

I have Mira 2007 and Im getting 23km/l local. On motorway if I drive at 90 i get more than 26. I can prove.

presently am using 185 mm tires with air pressure 26 psi.
If i use 165 mm tires with air pressure as 40psi, drive at speed of 70km, then surly i can get the passo average like 36km/l too.
But its not about the average at all. Cars are made for humans and not humans for cars. Hence considering other factors (reasonable tires with moderate air pressure at precise speed) are also vital.
I just shared what am getting with my choosen options. But most of the time i believe people just talk very high and away from real facts n figures.

You guys killed the reason for Toyota spending billions on the R&D of Prius to get 23kmpl. Only if they knew a 1000 rupees octane booster could do the trick

Did you fill the tank at the end of the journey? I believe that would actually tell the exact mileage

When i did my first trip to Islamabad using motorway, our swift did 359km on half tank, and i got pretty happy.
Drove on the way back, and petrol finished at 480km lol.

Filling tank up really makes sense after driving for a bit.

try not to trust the figures on the meter.. try calculating kms by liters by simple calculator..these built in calculators for kmpl are mostly a vague figure

no brother. Its not because of octane booster. Without it (with normal fuel) i will get the more or less same average. The purpose of pouring octane booster was not to get 50km/l average. No. It just makes the fuel combustion process rather easy for engine and ultimately it gives better performance but not in sense of getting more mileage, but in order to give an ideal medium to engine to perform well conveniently and to produce best yield for the long run.

Plz also check my previous post with subject FUEL CONSUMPTION OF PASSO AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS.
On very normal fuel, it firmly gives 36km/l when constantly running at the speed of 60km/h.
The posted pictures are real while i was driving.

Yes. There will always be difference. These gadgets are only for a fair idea. They cannot be precise. However, in my last trip from Islamabad to Multan, it proved otherwise. My car gadget was showing 19.8 kmpl. However when I checked it manually, it was 20.3 kmpl. Car was 9th gen civic oriel prosmatic...

This is a photo from my car after refil. The trip computer says 950km range. What it actually does is 400 km.

Point being - don't trust these trip computer ranges.

Btw, 36km per liter is around 85mpg. That is a lot by any standards. By a lot I mean exaggerated a lot.

Octane boosters are meant to kill knocking, not to improve fuel consumption. Tyre pressure is important. Less pressure will ruin the tire and more pressure will ruin the suspension.

luckily, my gadget is working perfect.
I have it checked manually many times and its results fully comply with instrumental checked.

Tomorrow i will try to post my last thread. I really mean it brother. Passo really does 36km/l at the contant speed of 60km/h.
