Liana CNG Mileage.... I am lovin it...tera Nasha 2

This is the second CNG refill after the purchase of the car last month. I got 161 kms with full A/c in stop-go conditions, in the city. I am lovin it. I have just filled in the cylinders for 294. This means Rs 1.80/km. My XLi was Rs. 5.5/km. Killing it was.

With the passage of time/kms, I am confident the mileage shall improve. Even at this stage, without A/c it would touch somewhere around 190 kms.

In one of the threads on this site a good expression has been coined about Liana...It grips the road like a lizard..... I fully endorse it. Uptil now I have been driving scraps. This is THE car. Tera Nasha, no doubt. City and Corolla are NO match.

Congrats on your car. So far i have driven my car 13000 km no problems uptill now and have done some real rash driving on it specially when i go to sialkot via wazirabad there is no road but a kacha track for 30kms

Good to know u r happy woth your purchase.......... this milage is what we should expect from liana after all these gadgetries fitted................... waisay there are also lots of guys here not too happy with the average there lianas are giving........ i think they are driving at high RPM's which is not what one should do when expecting economy....

u r getting really pretty millage. i m getting exactly this milage with 100% ac off. have make some sort of adjustment? at wot rpm you mostly drove the car and at which rpm you shift the gear. what is your maximum speed during this milage?

@Hasnain. Which CNG stations you are filling from? must be an honest guy or giving full gas mistakenly.

What is the average time in queue?

Frequency of visit to CNG pumm?

Do you keep the engine running while in queue or just switch on/off while snailing in the line? (In this sweltering heat it is hell to switch off while in queue.

Any hill drive yet, how is the response on CNG?

@ m_kaisar: During driving, my RPMs have remained arround 3000 while shifting RPMs have been around 3000-3500. Max speed 100 kms/hr. I suggest before you go for any sort of adjustment, consult one of our PW members, fzaman, working for LMKR. He has, uptil now, done lot of research on this new CNG technology and has consulted suzuki karachi as well. He rarely visits this site. If you need, I can give you his cell phone.

Notwithstanding your abhor against CNG, the financials might convince you (in my favour).

My CNG station is Embassy Road, G-6 ( 0.5 km for your office). Its owned by CDA Employees Wefare Trust.
Average time in queue: 5 minutes.
Frequency of visits: Once in 5 days.
I keep the A/c on, irrespective I am on gas on petrol.
No Hill experience yet. However, I would switch to petrol for that.

Good going Hasnain sahib, you are lucky to have got that faultless machine from Pak Suzuki as feedback from other Liana owners have not been much encouraging. Newton seems to be another satisfied Pakwheeler though he got an aftermarket CNG arrangement. But still your feedback is too luring me to resist the temptation of switching to Liana.

@Hasnain considering you fill after five days and run for 161kms, your daily average comes around 32km/day. I think with this kind of milage/run daily Petrol still remains affordable and convenient.

Autophile: Lets take your maths somewhat further. If, to be on the conservative side, I drive it 32 kms daily, thats around 1000 kms monthly. My Corolla used to give an average of 11 kms/litre with A/c. Thats 91 litres x 57.77=5252. While the CNG comes to 300x4=1200. Can you calculate the percentage from 1200 to 5252.

I am not taking the one-off errands to airports and pindi taking the mileage to 1500-1700.

That's exceptional, never ever tink to sell you Liana. I already said that your review is too tempting, I might fell for Liana. But my problem is that CNG really ruined my beloved Khyber and gave me real hard times, that's why I hate CNG despite Petrol on all time high price and still rising.

You know why people say filling point is so important. I got this latest fill from PSO Super Market (Awan/Modern Filling station, in front of Mr books). Time was 7 pm yesterday. The car has been driven around 65 kms and 2 lights are gone whereas the 2nd light should have gone at 100. This means I will get around 120 from this fill. There is some juglary with filling, I am sure.

@autophile: I would like you to test drive my Liana. Whenever you are free, do give me a call and we meet. I live quite close to your office as well.

Yes, the dark side of Liana is that with full passenger load and A/c on, you might feel a little power loss but if you have the temperament of CNG, you can ignore that. Apart from this, there is on other bad point. Also avaoid thief filling stations.

A good mileage for Liana, keeping in mind the ques that usually make up at the signals nowadays. Hope it improves with time. How much have you driven your car till now?

I have observed that Gas stations that are company operated have good quality gas. i.e. PSO in F-8 is good, i wonder if anyone has tried the candaan in satellite town, its quality is exclusive.
