Liana or Baleno?

@aly well the priorities you have, a baleno is sufficient but on the other hand I never recommend any body any car older than 3 years, because the first 3 years of the car is going to be the time it usually gives no trouble. This also stands true for a Mehran 1998 (which I finally sold a couple of weeks back:(). Hence, I would say you should go for a Liana because you are still going to get one year free of headaches depending on why the car is being sold and how the owner kept it. Cars do have feelings and treat you like you treat them

Go for an old model baleno 99-2001.those cars have solid bodies as most of the body panels were imported from japan and assembled here at that time.I have the experience of both 99 and 2005 models. Believe me you will never regret buying the old baleno (provided you get a good one). Also i have checked that the CNG consumption of baleno is better than of even a mehran.

@aly for Suzuki and its affinity to rust specially in Karachi, the number of years do count. In Karachi the miles would most probably in city so you know the condition of the roads in the past few years. In Punjab, specially Islamabad you need to guess what regions this car has seen

@mmumtaz thanks for ur valuable comments.. i had a lil idea abt what u said but i may not be able to go for an old baleno since it wud be too much used. besides... in karachi its difficult to find 9-10 year old clean car.. so i might have to go for 2003 onwards..

Friends deal is not that good as i myself just missed an extra ordinary Baleno 2005 JXR (not JXL) with First Owner had only 29k kms for 5 to 5.10 lacs. His demand was 5.25 lacs.

I had a baleno 2002 GLiP bought brand new, car was excellent except for road grip and breaks, every thing was perfect drove it 80,000 kms and sold it last year for 530,000 bought a liana back in april 06 rxi without cng converted to gas to date it has done 52k kms and trust me it is 100 times better than baleno. Gas consumption is 100 % same as baleno. It has lot of features, extremelly roomy from inside and a real pleasure drive. I also own a xli but trust me liana is way ahead of both xli and baleno and people who say it has many faults in it trust me there is nothing wrong with the car and a perfect peace of mind.
