Hate to say it but it looks like ashfaq wrapped a perfectly good head than tried to cover it by removing t.valve

Especially when you have a engine with steel sleeve which can bear more wear and tear than iron block engine

Ashfaq's junior mechanic Kashif changed mine in just 10-15 minutes.

BTW, my car was overheating and coolant was reducing about 1 liter a day. Therefore, the thermostat valve has now been removed that I had installed brand new last month (bought from Haji Autos, Plaza) and made the fan direct. This way, the engine performance and fuel average have been affected but eventually my car can stay on the roads as much I desire, rather than visiting mechanics again and again.

So your mechanic just pointed his fingers at the t.stat and didn't even bother to check for the underlying issues that were the real cause of the overheating and coolant reduction? There could literally have been a ton of other issues. Blown H.Gasket, t.stat stuck in close position, leaking head/block (something he worked on just before the issue arised), clogged radiator. The consequences of removing the t.stat have been mentioned over and over on these forums and I hope people start taking these advice's seriously.

Hi..I have M15A japanese engine in my liana from last 5 years & I have changed its gasket 2 times becuase of over heating now the tappets are giving annoying sound also gear box and clutch plates are weak ...I m going to change the engine with M13a and gear box any good suggestion regarding my engine change????

Got the injectures cleaned using ASNU Fuel Injector Testing & Cleaning

The injectores were not very dirty as i am using high octane and the throw of all the injectores was also equal in the testing phase before cleaning Alhumdullilah, they cleaned it using some liquid, i forgot the name of the liquid

Also got the tappets (shims) adjusted a few days back

Got this done just as a precaution although apparently there was no problem, this was done for the first time since i bought the car

But after getting it adjusted did feel a change specially in the pick and response of the car when i press the accelerator

If you know what your doing, I don't see how playing with the electronics should be a problem. The only problem I know off is that working on a cars electronics that has been messed about through our ustaads almost always ends up in a disaster. I had these issues with the Xtrail and Liana. I had to back track on both cars to figure out wtf was causing all the electrical problems and it was almost always a spliced wire that had branches of wires connected to it. We replaced the whole wiring harness on the Liana and I fixed the whole wiring harness on the Xtrail. Problem solved. You can now do as many DIYs with the electronics as you want if you do them correctly.

Absolutely right! I "undid" all the tapes and cutting with my 85' G11 previously. Learned a ton about cars. I had a box full of electric jumper, male and female and a roll of good quality wire. Had it running so strong eventually that I went upto Malam Jabba and Thandiani on CNG. Not to mention reversing all the cooling system jugaarrs i.e Tstat and dirent fan.

I've updated the post. Forgot to mention something in there. Changing a throttle cable is a basic DIY. Worry about electronics on these cars and never directly spray water or oil on these engines. One of our drivers did and I ended up with a complete m18 swap.

Why did you have to do a swap? All issues can be resolved as you mentioned.

The fuel injectors were cleaned from Concept motors I-9, it was a few months back, at that time they charged Rs.3000/- for fuel injector + Throttle body cleaning

The tappets (shims) were adjusted by Nasir Kharadia near peerwadhai moor a few days back, very famous over there its been like more then 25 years since his shop is there, normally he charges Rs.1250/- for this work shims included, he charged me Rs.950/-, when i went there Nasir Kharadia himself was not there his son Muneeb did the job for me that's why may be he charged less. the company quoted me almost Rs.3000 for the same job.

Yes he did that each shim which he removed from my car first he measured that with vernier calliper and then the one he replaced also was done after measuring and he did that many times the measuring

I have LIANA EMINENT 1.6L 2008 model for almost 3.5 years. The car's mileage is around 110k. Last weekend when I was coming from Lahore the gasket leaked and I got it ire-installed from Pindi Bhattian. The radiator was repaired and he also removed thermostat valve.

Today I went to my mechanic at Tipu Road Rawalpindi. He did engine compression test and the reading were 150, 80, 90 & 140. He advised me to replace enginge.

Senior members please guide what should I do? Got it repaired or replace with imported (Kabli) 1.6 engine. The approx cost of both options and recommendation.

Well brother what hioctane have to do with injector cleaning ? I remember a case of my friend passo running on mixture of hi octane and suddenly his car had knocking issue which were due to clogged injector if hioctane helps keeping injector clean than his car would have faced that issue BTW the guy seems unprofessional as the injector cleaning is done with alterasonic rays if you wanted to do it with injector cleaning fulid (less effective way) you should have bought some branded cleaner and poured in petrol tank

Just my thought that hi octane is cleaner so I thought the injectors are clean because of this reason but definitely not the only reason for injectors being clean
Yes as you right as seen in the pic the container in which the injectors are poured for cleaning it had the rays the guy told me about that but we're also dipped in the liquid and the ANSU machine automatically cleaned it while dipped in the liquid it ran the injectors

Ok people got the tstat installed from suzuki motors i9 islamabd they friggin charged 2000+gst . that is friggin insane. But anyhow, the tstat is working fine. Fan kicks in at 97'c and brings temp down to 91-92. Have poured water as yet to make sure there are no leaks and will put in coolant in few days. And for the guy who said tstat valve is not a necessity,i seriously thought you were being sarcastic..
Ignoring that, which oil should i use? Currently using shell hx7 that my friend put in and time for a change is near so suggestions? Oil along with cost and place to buy from please?
One more thing, i want to open heaflighy of liana and clean it up.has anyone done DIY for this yet?
