This is a dohc engine will give you pleasure at higher rpm,do not compare it with dolphin,yes tuning tappet, setting,good plugs,new air filter,new oil will definitely help a lot.

That civic was so good that i even started off in second gear when i was being lethargic. Will get the Liana tuned to see if it improves. One other issue the steering get pretty heavy after a minute of starting up. The previous owner said he had had work done on the 'hissa' and joints etc. Any idea about this?

yes you are right,but this is equipped with waste spark system so there is no comparison between the two.

Heavy power steering is the sign of malfunctioning PS or leaking pressure of PS.How is the PS oil,does it decrease,any leakage or even seepage found ever?How long since you replaced the oil?

Thanks again. There are three or four oil marks on the floor under the engine but the power steering fluid hasn't decreased that much. I have had the car for three months and haven't had any oil changed.

if you follow the PS oil pipes,you might be able to clue out the problem,i advise you to follow the pipes from reservoir and where these pipe will attach the PS,pipes will end at this type of thing(gotti),see below;

you should have to see,there will be two washers of copper on both sides of circular ends(desi terminology=gotti) look below;

these washer often after being pressed twice or thrice become the cause of seepage and reducing the PS pump pressure.

yes a bit on initial launch only,With some good tuning and high end plugs, that can also be over come.

I own a 2010 LIANA Eminent 1.6 AT. Bought it in 2011 with 9K km on the odo. From the very beginning, I was facing the problem of very loud cracking sounds coming from both front doors. Those sounds literally made my blood boil and I used to regret the decision of buying this car in the first place. Had shown it to many denters etc at 3S dealerships but no one could fix it permanently.

I had posted this problem on this thread some time back. A pakwheeler brother, do not remember the name, suggested to spray WD40 generously on the door lock striker (the one which is located on the pillar). At that time the did not appeal much to me, and my WD40 bottle was also missing I found the bottle yesterday so I thought to give it a try. and Bingo! It really worked to my astonishment. Thought to share this experience with other LIANA Owners Thank you to the dear member who gave this idea!

One more thing that is bothering me is my car's fuel consumption. It does not have CNG. I have started using synthetic oils and iridium plugs with genuine AIR and OIL filters. The average that I get in city with a light foot (I try to keep the RPM below 2.5K) and normal driving conditions (hardly any traffic jams or long red signals) is 7-8 kmpl with AC and about 10 kmpl without AC (noted it in winters of course). The Suzuki 3S people say it is the normal consumption. I am very satisfied with the consumption on highways and motorways (14-15 kmpl with AC), but those are very rare trips. 90% of my driving is in city for which the consumption in summers is very disturbing. Any ideas? Will be grateful.

It is 33K now. Never had tappets touched or any other kind of tuning / adjustment. I first want to know if there is someone who owns a Liana Eminent and gets better mileage. If mileage is the same, there is no point having it messed with.

Np, I hope you are enjoying the ride now.
I was too looking for an Eminent for myself, but couldnt find a decent one, so settled for an LXi instead. But it surpassed my expectations quite well. A good car overall.

Great! Liana is true value for money. What mileage do you get on your LXI on petrol?

It is a Dec 2007 registered and was under 48K kms, driven on both Petrol and CNG. But the CNG kit is after-market. Overall its in quite a good running condition. I mostly run it on CNG so no idea about the Petrol running, but it must be around 13km/liter with AC in city conditions.
