Liana review!

Guys, I just had a chance to test drive a suzuki liana(apparently know the suzuki dealer), and damn does it suck! Firstly the price...13 Lakhs, and that to for some cheaply assembled suzuki. For comparisons sake, you can get a Civic VTI Oriel UG Prosmatec for that price. Secondly, its ugly..the front light's have been ripped off from the Civic, and the rear lights are suzuki's very own invention. The side skirts are nasty and the interior is even worse. The only appealing aspect are the dials(yay!). The 1.6L engine is very basic and does'nt even compare to that of the City or Corolla. Acceleration is'nt bad but then at about 100 the car gets sluggish esp with the A/C on. Overall, another attempt by Pak suzuki to rip us all off..this time with an import. At the end of the day..it's a suzuki costing you way way more than you should pay. Cheers,

Whatelse can you expect from SUZUKI? They are just looting us. If honda, toyota charge some amount then they provide something remarkable as well. Suzuki is ...

I agree. Corolla and Toyota are way better. The point I am making isn't that its a suzuki, its the price tag! It's a rip!

GLI!!! all suzuki cars in Pak are overpriced. see cultus, baleno, mehran. these all are overpriced.

yes i know!!suzuki is sucking our public and we are giving them chance to suck us....i am against that premium and onn u pay for that cars.....even they are not perfectly aseembled...some misses nuts...some misses engine mounting nuts.....:)......i think time comes when they forgot to install engine or thing likes brakes in their cars :).....Liana...after seeing price i reject it...it can't make pakistani car....

There are plenty of idiots in our country with more money than they can count and you will see them driving this car on our roads. Reviews about this car by international magazines is not that good. Thats to be expected from a Suzuki. I say go for a Civic and not even a Lancer.

Which dumb ass gave the idea of first importing liana to suzuki ppl and then to keep its price at 1.3 million... Importing Verona could be a better option in the same price. Its not only the leaders that suck....

well guys, let me tell you some points!

1. All cars in Pakistan are overpriced.

2. All cars that are imported to
   pakistan like 1.6 Lancer, 1.6 Liana, 1.6 Optra, 1.6 Sunny, do have latest shape, interior or features, But on engine, they are giving outdated engines in new bodies!

Holy SHIT 1.6 Lancer is only 103 HP and this 1.6 Liana is JUST 100 HP!!!!
while are paki manufactured VTi (although abused for quality) atleast gives 128HP!

Moreover if we were living in US this very same VTi would have been for a mere 5 lacs! just! but here we have to pay more than double! critisize the government and those rich japanese asses sitting in Japan and looting us by giving expensive cars!

Dont bother the salesman here. They are just doing their job!

Getting out of this damn jap monopoly has now become hell important. In order to bring reforms in auto sector in Pak, in order to reduce prices, in order to get quality issues addressed, PAKISTAN HAS TO GET OUT OF THE INFLUENCE OF JAP'S MONOPOLY. If we allow other car manufactueres to come in Pak & appreciate our own manufacturing concerns then we'll see that these japs would become 'BANDAY K PUTTER' in no time. These japs give every comfort and pleasure of driving to their ppl but rob the money of poor Pakistani ppl.

Well said guys...engines are out-dated in these imports and are over-priced for sure. Compare the Toyota Corolla in the U.S per say, with the one here(considering the cost). These jap's rip us off since we're Pakistani's with their cheap quality and out-dated engine designs, and these local bast**s further rip us off with their so called taxes and costs. The automobile sector in Pakistan is a shame.

Only if we ppl could support companies like Chevy, hyundai , this would give two advantages
1) Take the air out of honda/corolla/suzuki nexus
2) Make our ppl believe in these new cars and their resale issue would be resolved.

Lets not forget Revo as only we can make it successful, not the company, not the goverment.

Yup... u're right...we'll have to support new non-jap arrivals. When there'd be competition, these japs would become ...
Revo would be successful INSHALLAH. the only thing revo should have focus on right now is the spare parts availability. somebody rightly said that revo parts should also be found from a paan shop even. Revo would be successful than Mehran INSHALLAH. prayers are with Revo.

Thats y i'm a Kia Spectra fan. Support the Koreans! Personally i feel that the people making the Revo have made a booboo. They should have collaborated technically with a well established car maker and obtained technical expertise from them. Example Proton of Malaysia. First they made Mitsubishi cars and then after sufficient experience made new models under the Proton name. Revo should have done the same. Anyway we have only our own government to blame. The Japs are not at fault. They are only supplying you with lo-tech cars cuz the market in Pakistan demands it. If the government amends its rules eg in Australia all vehicles must conform with the ADZ(Australian Design Rules), then we can expect quality but again the price will be a bit higher as the safety and technology will be advanced. So lets c what the future holds.

what kinda market are you talking of? everywhere you can see jap cars. just some years back korean company entered. The whole market is stiffed with jap stuff. No one would like to buy a mehran without safety features in it. everyone loves its life.

I dont think so that Liana will capture any market in Pak bcoz of high prices and cheap quality it is too much expensive the main question arises why we choose Liana instead of Vti or Corrolla...........
