the liana is a reasonably priced car, however the price tag it has in pakistan, people chose altenative drives such as corollas or civics/citys. Which are far more reliable than the Suzuki Liana

@adl01: Probably because they got it in 730K when Pak Suzuki was giving discounts and promotions.

Ever wondered what is the resale of Civic? My cousin got it for 12.84 K in 2002, today its value is about 7K.

Resale doesn't mean the car is not good...Most Accords have very lousy resale value. It is just one parameter which is very important for some buyers and not at all for others.

Well guys I own liana and city both 2007 model. In comparison liana has better acceleration, better drive, better air-conditioning, far more features, much better road grip, good seating arrangement, better tires although both had General Tires but in city I had to replace them just over 5000 Kms. What liana lacks is market perception, re-sale value, and mechanics. But one of my friends has a proche and believe me he also complained about re-sale and mechanics. Overall Pak Suzuki finally, after Fx, produced a car that deserves to be on the road

Agree with above...its the best car produced by Pak Suzuki so far..

@Lotus: It sure is strange, at a time when we are seeing more and more Lianas on the road. Has it got anything to do with over-stocking (purchased in bulk in the previous year, but being sold this year...that is why this year's sales invoices are low but in fact actual sales are high?)...i suspect this b/c of the massive discounts and promotions.

My dad has had a liana lxi with cng since dec 2006 still no issues with anything except for a broken spring on the brake pedal but that is literally nothing. great cng consumption 200+km without ac, approx 170+ with ac on full gas tank. pickup slightly slow as compared to other car i have driven but not drastically slow so as to make the car unusable.
over all a very nice package if you are looking for a low maintenance family saloon for daily driving.
no idea about mechanics and stuff as have not had a chance to go to them yet.

BTW: why keep on comparing Liana with City IDSI, please do the same with Lancer 1.3, XLI 1.3 and Sunny 1.3 as well

Liana might be the best thing after the invention of the wheel but lets see how it stands out against the above three

liana is a new car with looks of the previous decade.... its front resembles that of daewoo racer....infact the whole car looks like a smaller version of daewoo racer with a little make over..

its a complete failure regardless customers who bought it are satisfied or not. and poor pak suzuki cant do anything about it so far to make the sales stop declining

my reason to praise liana is based on my experience with liana and city both. forget about mechanics and resale issue. liana itself is a great value for its price. the features it offers in stadard version is actually more than city fully loaded, xli standard or even old civic. i have never used spectra or proton or geeli so cant say anything about that.

Liana only sells because of its CNG option in 1.3 category and price. everyone knows that. interior is nice. rear seats are alright. ABS sucks. 1 week after purchase, AC stopped working.Month later gear oil started to drip.
