DAYMN!! its an awsome ride.....can beat civic EXI or SE saloon any time!!!

archon2001: rightly said, my younger bro had liana RXI CNG so i have driven it a lot and i wanna put this on record that the car is great but man oh man sucks on quality issues!!!

there is quality issues in all Pakistani made cars even the new civics have faults in them, rolla has faults in them then why not expect the same from suzuki.

As far as the engines problems are concerned i totally disagree with that as these engines are made in japan and are totally trouble free.

There were some faults in my liana too at the time of delivery which were fuel guage not working, horn not working, driver side lock and remote not working but all problems were loose connections which were fixed in 15 mins only fuel guage problem took 2 hours as we had to open the fuel tank to get it fixed otherwise since then it is totally trouble free its pretty sluggish on cng with ac on (it could be due to after market cng) but perfomas really well on petol touched 180 on it on motorway and raced once with xli city and exi and trust me I came head to head with exi until we reached 170 at that time civic guy stopped pumping his car more other wise i wasnt letting him go.

overall its a nice car but with expansive parts. Like my ac bearing is making noise and suzuki guys are telling me to change the whole pully instead of just a bearing and that thing is for 4k.

@newton: i agree all local cars suffer from quality issues but its not just about simple loose connections, when you have a clutch bearing, leaked radiator its not that simple and as you can see many replies have mentioned serious issues as well.

Just try to feel the pain of a guy who bought a 0 meter liana and after a few months its is in the workhop and is being taken apart.

Pak Suzuki needs to look at their QC coz with the small budget cars like Mehran, Alto, Cultus, they might sell even in bad QC coz people dont have higher purchasing power but with higher end models, we do have better choices like City, Corolla, Lancer and Sunny

Frankly speaking if you sum up the reviews of owners of pak 1.3 cars:

1. Liana has most problems
2. Corolla XLI/GLI mostly with brakes
3. City does not have any major issues

in all of my posts about liana i never said it is a bad car as such but has serious QC

suzuki is the brand name of cheap simple machines.... they shouldn't try to beat toyota or civic..... pakistani car market has a big gap for middle level buyers...i.e. small sedan cars in 650 ~ 750K range.... liana can be a sucess if it taps this market.... i propose a simple lina without any fancy fetures with the 1000cc efi engine in 700K... i bet it will be an instant hit.... people who have no other choice but to buy cultus would buy this cheap version of liana...

I agree with you about the problems in your brother's liana and feel bad about it but trust me 99% of pakwheelers here have not driven a liana or have never seen any problem in it with their own eyes but are complaining about it. In the case of city there are not much complaints you know why ?, becuase it is almost feature less and does not have cng installed in it. 80% of liana faults are related with cng, convert your steermatic to cng today and you will be selling it shortly :).

I think Liana is the best available sedan currently in our market with a very low price tag and full of features but yes when it comes to shape city has got the look but still honda needs to replace the bicycle tires from city and need to give some good quality cd player in it.

@newton: sorry bro i dont agree, the only thing liana has extra from city is CNG+clock/external temp indicator.

If I say City has Electric Power steering which no other pak car has and also drawers under rear sets, then? and also IDSI has 8 plugs (2 per cylinder)..........

As for the CNG if the factory fitted CNG failed what else remains - we all know that steermatic + vario have issues with CNG and that might be due to the technical nature of CVT.....

the point still remains that liana has quality issues and when you start to have problems you dont see the features as a plus point anyway

yeah...its a misconception tht its got a high centre of gravity...with 5 passengers on board its floor gets a beating on every little bump or speed breaker.

Corollas and Mehrans were, are and will always be the most successful cars in Pakistan. Thats probably written in our constitution. To call any other car as a success will be unconstitutional and considered an offence.

I am owner of Liana and i must say car is amazing when we talk about the features and performance on petrol and CNG.

Toyota is selling because of TAG same is the case with Honda City.

in Pakistan people consider Toyota as a Status Symbol...and those people prefer Toyota who sits on a back seats. Honda is just becasue ..again it's having sporty looks ...(Young Generations)
City Idsi can't be compared with Liana 1.3 becasue i am sure Liana can smoke City IDsi any day but yes Steermatic is something totally excellent!

Liana was launched very late ... as compare to Corolla and City. overall it's a nice package as a family car...you just buy and forget about any installation esp CNG, sound System. for City you have to get a CNG, Good music system etc. Liana is not a Flop. it's just becasue of Paksuzuki reputation and dealership people line up liana along with the problems of Mehran and Cultus ...Liana is not problematic unless you drive that car like a rent car!! Good Day.

I think Liana's sale is more affected by imports than local competitors. Corolla and Civic has also suffered from low sales figure (excluding XLI), quality issue will be there no matter what PS assembles !.
