Liana, success or failure?

@newton: yaar yes City is expensive than Liana but why are you calling it featureless, what does Liana has that city does not have??? i know there are things but it might be 2 lines instead of 2 pages like u mentioned earlier

if you really wanna call something feature-less and high priced then XLI takes the cake!!!!

i am still waiting for the long list of features

every local auto assembler is ripping people off, here are the top 3:

1. toyota
2. suzuki
3. Honda

Some of the features which City lacks as compared to LIANA (considering almost same price models. i.e IDSI and RXI-CNG):
1. SiS CNG kit (only this worth around 65K, correct me if i am wrong)
2. Mp3 player with remote
3. 4+2 speakers in LIANA whereas City has 2
4. Side skirts in LIANA
5. Outside temperature
6. Key less entry
7. Engine Immobilizer
8. more seat belts in LIANA
9. 14" (185) tires in LIANA whereas 13" (165) in City
10. LIANA is 16 valve and City is 8 valve

If you compare IDSI with LXI (without CNG)
then
Remove SiS CNG kit from the list and add
1. Alloy
2. ABS

compare the list which a pak wheeler just sent trust me if u get these features in a car after wards you will end up spending atleast 100,000 bucks thats my point and as far as the quality is concerned yar liana is almost 100,000 cheaper then city (include all the features too) thoree c kharab quality chaltee hay

here is my friendly response:

Some of the features which City lacks as compared to LIANA (considering almost same price models. i.e IDSI and RXI-CNG):

1. SiS CNG kit (only this worth around 65K, correct me if i am wrong)
   • Agreed it is an awesome kit with as Newton and other liana owners have pointed out is full or problems but again the Kit is really advanced

2. Mp3 player with remote

   • I remember my bro's LIANA RXI player could not play .WMA format - Player is awesome but you cannot consider it an advantage - Yes i agree city comes with stupid cassette player - exchange it and spend around 6 to 7000 to get a really good MP3 player

3. 4+2 speakers in LIANA whereas City has 2

   • again just shashka, spend 1 to 2000 and get another pair for city

4. Side skirts in LIANA

   • cosmetics

5. Outside temperature

   • yea liana has that so what?

6. Key less entry

   • spend 1,500 and get it installed for city as well

7. Engine Immobilizer

   • yes liana has that agreed

8. more seat belts in LIANA

   • yes but do we actually use them in pakistan

9. 14" (185) tires in LIANA whereas 13" (165) in City

10. yes liana has

11. LIANA is 16 valve and City is 8 valve
    yes but whats the point? - we all know IDSI is a econo box and is not at all a performance machine

If you compare IDSI with LXI (without CNG)
then
Remove SiS CNG kit from the list and add
1. Alloy
2. ABS

• yes but then i can bring in steermatic in the picture as well

seeing this i can say the only thing liana has that means something (conserding other variants as well):

1. ABS
2. SIS Kit
3. i am including this that liana has better and more comfortable suspension

ok now i will be very factual and mention few things city has:

1. EPS - Electric power steering
2. CVT - better than conventional auto transmission
3. large trunk
4. Better road grip and handling (Liana is even higher than city)
5. drawers below rear seats
6. 2 glove boxes
7. much quiter engine and i have seen city with more than 70000km on the meter and did not require any maintenance expect oil change

so we should not compare cosmetics and rather practical things, now since u brough LXI in the picture I will bring steermatic:

1. 7 speed mode (name any other car in the price range in pak that has it)
2. powerful VTEC SOHC engine which produces equal or more BHP+torque than any 1.6 engines in pak cars
3. 7 spoke allows with 15" low profile tyres

anyways lets compare steermatic with eminent

ABS 15 Inch alloys (new model) dvd dunlop tires auto transmission (lacks trip tronic stuff),

CVT is of no use in manual transmission (rxi and lxi) and dont know about EPS so wont comment on that but its a plus for city.

base model city does not have rear under seat drawers it lacks the insulation under the bonnet where as liana has it liana has an equally quite cabin and which is way bigger (its a practical thing) and well city has a big boot but still liana has a big one too but not as big as city.

road grip well try my liana on the bends it has dunlops trust me u gonna forget city grip city comes with bicycles tires yar.

but over all city is a good car and desi blonde babes really looks good driving it where as in liana u cannot see the chick inside due to the abnormal height of the car

Like always no suzuki fails because its considered as a upper middle class car . No suzuki has ever failed ALTO MEHRAN name it i hardly see any suzuki car going out of business

Liana is a cheap Luxury car for our country just like Vauxhaull is called as the Luxury for the poor same goes for Liana
and since it has a SUZUKI badge to it that means every bad thing is covered up

Suzukis goal is making profits and there is nothing in world called as LIANA SPORTS . Suzukis are meant to be 1.3 in Pakistan.Only reason for discontinuity of a particular model is rivalry with other brands and as i wrote before Suzuki's target has always been upper middle and middle class so thats why it never was and never will go out of business
